Anyone have an extra set of gland nuts for a pair of KYB front struts for a 280? Seems like they sent me a pair of 240 and a pair of 280 in one set I have. I have sectioned my strut tubes so the gland nuts that came with the shorter struts dont fit. I think some of you 240 guys may have gotten an extra larger pair of gland nuts with your struts.. THANKS!

(more suspension dilemmas for me) Now to the question of bushings: Which should I go for? If I do not intend to street race the car that much, am I better off replacing my bushings with the rubber (stock) type rather then the harder urethane type. I have heard that urethane bushings will stiffen up the ride, which is not what I really want as my town's roads are riddled with holes and hence provide for a bumpy ride as it is. The second part of my question is, I have heard that the urethane bushings need oiling now and again, whereas the stock rubber ones are maintenance free. Is this correct? One last thing that concerns me, as the urethane is a different material then th…

:stupid: the reason why i am asking this question is i have a bad experience a couple of years back. i am driving a 67 chevy camaro then with a 6 months old imported ball joint (freeway 5) then all of a sudden the new ball joint was pulled-out of the socket....scary now that i have a 72 datsun i want to do it correct, does any body have any problem installing imported ball joint (made not in U.S. or Japan) the dealer balljoint is $103.78/pc?

Ok -- so I have cleaned and re-packed a pair of ball joints and they move pretty freely now. The question is this -- in the FSM, it states that the turning torque of the ball stud with the nut on it should be >50kg -- so if this thing spins freely in my hand its shot. I would think we WANT them to be nice and free turning and moving. I mean no up and down play, but freely moving in the ball socket. Kind of confusing how it reads in my manual. Thanks for your help! These will be a set of spares in my rig so if they are shot, they are shot, just dont want to bolt them on at the track and have them sheer off like D-76's! p

hi i just had a p90 head installed onto my L28 and noticed that on the side of the head it has P90A. This head has mechanical lifters , i was under the assumption that P90 A heads were all hydraulic. is this true?

Hi guy´s I have a 280ZXT from 83´ and today I noticed that it had puked almost all the hydraulic fluid from the powersteering on the road! I can see that the fluid is dripping from the rubber cover(the thing that is rippeld) Now is this a common failure ? Like ohh just replace the left sealing etc? In the first days( 1.5 years ago) when I just got my Z I rember that I sometimes forced the steering wheel into the right position to fit my steering wheel lock with the engine turned off! could this had caused any damage? It didn´t feel right so I stopped doing it but maybe it was too late:stupid: Before It had the leakage I also noticed some noice form the powersteeri…

Does anyone know if there is a direct bolt on for a power steering upgrade or something that could work? I was interested in doing this if it's possible.

I need new shocks for my 1971 240Z and I don't seem to be able to find any in Sydney. I'm thinking Koni's or Tokico which seem to be the most popular with the rest of the club. What do you think? Other than Victoria British can anyone suggest a mail order supplier elsewhere in the world? Tokico don't appear to sell direct or even list distributors. KONI doesn't even list Datsun as a supported model and 240's are not listed under Nissan there either.

Here is one to think about, I have a 73 240 that is mostly stock except for the usual upgrades; Round top SU's, urethane bushings, etc. Every thing is either new, rebuilt, or very well maintained. My problem starts when I am on the freeway. When I push the gas pedal down, it sounds like I have a solid steel diff mount (which I do not). It does not do it when I am crusing, coasting (at speed with the clutch pedal in), in first, second, third or fourth gear less than 50 or so mph. It only happens when I am at a decent speed (50 mph +), in fourth gear the gas is on (even just a little). The car is an ex-automatic and the drive train has always been in very good condi…
