I need to know what diameter and height I need for springs -- the springs I took off the back of my ITS roller were certainly not the right size... Can someone please tell me what length/diameter/rate I would want to run in my ITS 280Z car? I certainly appreciate all the help!

I have searched the site for the differential ratio that came on a 71 240 with an automatic transmission. I am planning to remove the auto and install a 5 speed and need to know if should also grab the rear end from the donor. Thanks

I've just picked up my new suspension legs that have been modified with a Bilstein gas "upside down" setup. The cost of the work was pretty frightening, but they DO conform to F.I.A regulations and they are apparently just about as good as you can get whilst staying within the rules. I'm going to "recycle" the setup that is currently on the car ( shortened oil-filled LEDA units that I was never happy with ) and hope that these will feel a lot better. These are what a lot of the Historic Rally guys are running on their cars here in Europe. Alan T.

I posted a comment regarding the rear end noise on my Z last week. After considering the feedback, I have decided to replace all the bearing, bushings, rear insulator, ect. One of the replies from a very knowledgable Z owner suggested to me that the 200SX Turbo came with a R200, 4.11 gears. Has anyone installed one of these in their car? Is it a direct bolt on? I have not yet went to my local Z salvage yard to check it out. My other question regards the Disc brake conversion. I have realized that I am not going to be able to do the 240SX conversion due to my wheel size. Has anyone done the ZX swap, and if so were larger rims, other than the 14x7 offset work with these. I …

I just bought a L28 engine its a 82 that has an after market cam mild for street use, and headers I am going to run SUs the engine is just broken in . My question is that I am presently running an automatic trans. and want to stay with one , but would like to run a 4 speed. The Maxama unit is what I am thinking of but what is involved in making this mod? I know drive shaft , most likely but do I use the maxama shaft and have it worked over or go with the present one . I am thinking of replaceing the diff with a r200 if I do that then what is needed in the way of drive line and location of shifter vs. console top side? Another thing , will the half shafts from the R180…

I've got a set of the shortened Nissan Comp steering knuckles which I've been meaning to put it. At the same time I figured it would be a good idea to change the ball joints too, so I went to Nissan to ask about pricing and availability.... $120ish EACH ball joint?!?!?!?!?!?! Is this a joke? I remember ball joints costing in the $30 range from my Honda days, so how can Nissan expect to charge an extra $100 for basically the same part? Advice? Different source to get them from? Any advice would be appreciated... -e

I, like many of you, have a front end which so far has resisted any attempt that I have made to stop it from vibrating at speed. I've had the wheels balanced twice, I've put in the MSA T/C kit, I've changed my steering rack bushings to urethane, I've made sure the hub bearing castle nut was tightened to the proper torque specs..... I've got a feeling my hub bearings themselves are to blame. My spare parts Z had 4 brand new hub bearings in the glove box which if they do fit the Z I'd like to use. Problem is they are not in Nissan packaging, they are as follows: One in a Beck/Arnley Worldparts box labeled 051-3160 - inside is a NTN brand made in Japan bearing One in a Koyo …

I just read about control arm bushes but I have a slightly different problem XYZ you seem to know a bit about them from the last post I read. Anyway my problem is I have to replace the front 2 and rear 2 but the front ones are the ones I'm doing first. The problem is I can't get them out. I've jacked the car up and I'm trying to undo the bolt that runs horizontally across. I'm using a rachet and I was really trying to undo it but it slipped and has slightly rounded the bolt. The other side can be done I spose but I don't wanna round that one. I used some WD40 and tried to get it inside the bolt to encourage it to loosen up. I used a longer rachet for more torque but there…

I need to adjust my handbrake so that when I pull it up it doesn't need to be lifted up really high before it will hold the car still. The Haynes manual is hopeless because it tells me to adjust things that I don't know since the diagrams don't label what it's telling me. Anyway I need a detailed description on where to adjust from and how to do it? Pictures would be the best if anyone has the time if not I'll post pictures from the manual and see if anyone can help from there... Thanks heaps.

I have finally removed the old control arm bushings! Everyone was right about this job, it is no fun. It took me about an hour per bushing to remove them. The propane torch sure came in handy. My question now is how do I properly install the urethane bushings and collar? You can't really press the urethane in without ruining it. Do you just grease it up and use a rubber mallet and gently tap them into place? Then, do I install the collar in the bushings before the pin is installed, or do I install the pin and then drive the collar onto the pin? The collar doesnt fit on the pin as nicely as I had hoped, by that I mean it doesn't just slide on smoothly. It is one tight fit…
