I've just bought a DR-30 RS-X Turbo Skyline & the R-200 LSD doesn't. I've currently got the back gover off & there are no metal partices in the housing, so I'm assuming it's just worn out & needs new clutch packs. The question is, standard breakaway is 45ft/lb & infomation that I have says that more breakaway is desirable. Should I get it tightened up, and if so, how much? The car will be a daily driver, but since the diff needs re-building anyway, I'd rather get this right now & not have to pull it out again in 6 months time.

Shortening Struts Submitted by, John Coffey Moss Micro, Inc. jcoffey@mossmicro.com http://www.mossmicro.com As a result of my parts for sale post I've received a few questions about shortening struts. The best description of he "why's and how's" was sent to me back in 1996 by Wayne Burstein: ---------------------------------------- Let's start by defining the task at hand. We want to lower the car in order to lower the center of gravity. I'll skip all the analysis on why we want to do this because there are lots of good books on the subject, and confine my comments to what you might run into in performing this on a Z. First I need to define a couple of terms: Bump -- sus…

I got the new Motorsport Auto Auto News the other day. On page 18 they list a new "Performance Camber kit" for the front and rear. They are listed at $99.95 for a pair. "...our camber kit is a direct bolt-in allowing simple camber changes while requiring no sheet metal modification. Allows for 1.5 degrees of camber change. Maintains original ride height in Z's built up to 8/74...." At some later point down the road, I'd like to lower my Z a little, no more than an inch. I've heard/been told that lowering affects your camber, hence the need for adjustment. If this little gadget works, then it would make things a lot easier. Question: Has anybody heard/seen/used or …

I'm interested in a very nice looking blue 260Z 2+2 but the only problem is that it's an auto... Does anybody know how much it'd cost, and what's involved in swapping the transmission over from auto to manual? Thanks

hi, i have a 73 240z with a stirring wheel that moves left to right all the time, its uncontrollable. it does not affect the car travel but its very uncomfortable. All the linkage have been replace( ball joint, tie rod). can any one tell me the compatibility of a 73 240z rack and pinion with the later model. Its easier to find a later model z in the junk yard. ty, hfcuda@yahoo.com

I have been debating over whether to spend the cash for a light flywheel, such as a Tilton, HKS, something in the sub 10 pound category. I have a moderately warmed over 280, triples, 284/294 camshaft, 5speed, 3.90, shaved flywheel (approx 22 lbs.) primarily a weekend car. I am not big into drag racing, but rather into slalom and track events. The car idles well at 800-1000rpms, not bad... So, is it worth the cash for a approx. $350 flywheel and the labor installed. I expect faster acceleration, lightning engine response. My car will still idle right?

well, i just installed my 82 zx 5-speed in my 240z and i have a question. i noticed that my old 4-speed has a nicely s-curved shifter that would go perfectly with my new tranny in order to avoid hitting my heater controls and console. but, the part of the gear shifter that actually goes into the transmission for the 4-speed is longer than the one that came with the 5-speed. will this prevent my transmission from shifting correctly if i used my elongated 4-speed s-curve shifter from the 240 in my 5-speed 82 zx transmission. any help appreciated! i hate shifting with out a shifter knob!
