Anyone ever hear of these brackets breaking at the 90 degree bend ? Both mine broke at the track yesterday. Pretty scary ride for a few seconds ! Unless someone has a better part idea, I plan to gusset up the next set to make them stronger. These are the brackets or plates that bolt to the frame at the top and the transverse link bolts to at the bottom. These were ST brackets. If you were to run a rear ST sway bar, this is the bracket that it would bolt up to. Give me some ideas. 1971 240 Z Thanks

So I lost one of the bolts out of my inner rear control arm. I have a replacement bolt, but for the life of me cannot seem to find the large star washer. Are there any alternatives (i.e. lock tight, or a standard lock washer)? I imagine Nissan used them for a reason. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Cheers, Scot

Hey everyone, as you can see, I'm new here but not to Z cars, I have been surrounded by them all my life. Anyway, to get to the point, I was wondering if anyone out there had replaced the stock U-Joint on their 260z (or 240/280) and how difficult it is. What tools are required? How much time? I'm looking at getting the MSA Spicer oversized u-joints to replace my old rusted ones. Any input would be great- thanks in advance. Dave

I am having a problem with my suspension on my project car I can not figure out. The Rear passenger side wheel is sitting 2-1/2" lower than the driver side. My front passenger side is sitting 1" lower than the driver side. I have replaced all control arm bushings, new struts and new springs, nothing has fixed the problem. I am thinking I have something tweaked on the frame of the car at this point. I have attached pictures of the rear tire clearance for a visual. Any ideas would be appreciated. If it is the frame, is it possible to fix the problem?

Alright so I've decided after taking someone elses Z for a spin this past weekend (and being thrilled with the ride quality) that I want to go coilovers. The kicker here is that I do not have the know-how or ability to section the struts or weld so I'm looking for something that I can bolt in directly if possible. The only place that I have found so far that does this is Techno Toy Tuning however (and please correct me if I'm wrong) I feel that $1950 for coilovers all around seems like a bit much even with included springs. Is there any other available bolt in ready product on the market that someone can suggest, or can someone let me know if spending the money here is wo…

Hey are there any Z Tech Days (usually weekend day where Z enthusiasts get together to help each other do or finish a half-day/day project) in the northern California area?

For those who have used a spindle pin removal tool, I have a few questions. First, did the tool work, and if so, how hard was it to get the pin out? Please give tool details as well. What worked well, and what could be improved? Did the tool have a bearing, greased washers, or ??? The reason I ask is that I'm about to make my own removal tool, but I want to build a better mouse trap, so to speak. Rather than using hardware store all-thread, I was considering buying acme thread rod to make the tool. I figure that 3/4" - 6 acme rod will make the tool much more efficient than standard threaded rod. A friend just loaned me a tool he bought online and it worked for him…

I was looking around for info on Koni shocks and found that Zcar Depot has front and rear sets for $389.00 a pair. Then I started digging around in here to find out what they feel like on the street and noticed that no one has mentioned this particular model number. I can't find it anywhere on the internet except for this site: https://zcardepot.com/suspension/shocks/koni-shocks-strut-adjustable-front-new-240z-260z.html?search=Koni Do they have a typo in the model number? Is this a new item? Am I missing something fundamental about how to shop for these? /M

Well today I got back into the Z after almost a year of playing solely with the roadster. Man it was nice to show some love her way. Well my first hour of work went swimmingly I got to here rather quickly. I managed to get all of the parts off rather easily. My lower control arm pin, looked brand new so I think at some time it was replaced, so I did not mess with it. I will save that mamma jamma for later Well anyway, I have been thinking my struts were kaput for a while as they are at least 18 years old according to the receipt from the PO. Here is what pulled out. And it came off without any fuss at all. I think the gland nut is stuck to the…

Hey guys. Been a lurker for the past couple of months. Finally getting around to my first post. Come from the world of messing with 90's Volvo's so its been an interesting switch up for me as of late. Currently looking into replacing the suspension on my '76 280Z for a month or so now. Not looking to do any serious autocross or crazy stuff like that, just want to replace the stock suspension with something nice that will look good when done. Looking at the coilover options right now but a little divided on what route I want to go exactly. I've been reading up on the available options and due to there being many threads, some being very old (5 or so years). Im a litt…

Hi all, Been putting in a ton of work on the 240Z and am putting coil overs in all around (front is all done!). I've hit some trouble for the first time in a while and was hoping for some help. Tips, tricks, etc on removing the spindle pins as well as how to properly disassemble the rear hub would be very helpful. I have T3 coilovers and am planning on sticking with the drums still for the rear. I already got the spindle pin lock bolts out but unfortunately could not save them in the process either. Thanks in advance! Chris
