So I can see the light at the end of the tunner with my rear suspension rebuild. I am putting KYB's on and all 3 of my other struts went back together fine. However I cannot get the final glad nut on the right rear strut started on the tube. I put some anti seize on it to help give it some lube and hopefully make things easier should I need to take it off again. The threads on the inside of the tube appear to be okay and not cross threaded or anything. But when I think the nut is started and looks straight I start turning it with my wrench and it just pops back up out of the threads. Also, due to my many attempts from of the threads have become damaged on the glad n…

I have read a few write ups and the instructions from GC on installation for a 240Z. Needless to say I am confused. I was wondering if there is a write up with clear measurements on cutting the strut housing tubes and the spacers? I also read that they need Koni gland nuts? Thanks.

I've been going back and forth about getting GC coil overs. I have heard that the Tokico Blues will and will not work with the coil overs. Does anyone know for sure? I also understand that sectioning the strut housings and going with shorter inserts in recommended when lowering a car. What is the max. I can lower my car before having to section my strut housings? I already have fairly new tokico blues on my car now. I would like to drop my car about 2" and I do not take it to the track, although it would be nice. Thanks

My son was working on his M3 the other day and found he couldn't get his spring compressors in the space allowed in the strut tower. This is similar to the problems in our Z's. He found a work around that may also work for our Z's. He bought 36" pull ties at the local Home Depot and found them rated at 175lbs. Jacked the axle up to compress the springs and installed 10 pull ties between the uppermost and lowermost coils. And as in the nursery rhyme, "there he kept them very well." If you are simply changing the strut, you are good to go. If you need to remove the springs, install a conventional spring compressor after you clear the strut tower and fender. Pull ties can b…

Do you think new poly bushings are better than the PO's finely crafted duct tape version? Sorry I should have gotten pictures.

I am about to change the shocks and struts in my 78 with KYBs. What other parts must I consider also changing out when this job is performed? I heard strut mounts might be good for starters. The car has over 300K.

Hello all. I pulled the pin and ordered up a set of Stagg struts to get my car on the road, as I believe they will only be temporary before I decide what i'm going to do with the suspension. The rears went in first, and were without drama (More or less). The front's is where it got interesting. Upon install, the front cartridge was not long enough for the gland nut to tighten down on it. From reading other posts, I remembered people talking about Tokico struts requiring a spacer. I wasn't sure how people did this, so I actually just found a 1/2" locking nut, which fit snugly to the bottom of the strut, and gave the strut that 1/4" of extra height required for the gla…

I'm replacing my strut cartridges on my 280z with KYBs. It's recommended to add some oil in the strut housing after inserting the new cartridge. The trouble is that there doesn't seem to be any seal up top. Just the large gland nut. Is that a problem?

Hey fellas, Does anyone know where to find Tokico HP/Blues other than MSA (and cheaper)? I scored the rears on Amazon for quite a bit cheaper than MSA, but I can't find the fronts anywhere. Thanks!

Hello, I´m thinking about getting these springs into my `72 240Z, but i want to find out some more details about them and if they suit my driving needs better then the Eibachs. I could get almost any info (beeing a german engineer makes some things easier), but i need the Vogtland Art.-No to identify them. Could anybody provide me the number written on them? It has to start with a "95" and is 6 columns long. Thanks.

Hi Guy's... I need some suggestions on changing the ride quality on the Z.... the basics are.... 71 'Z', Stock springs that the previous owner had cut to lower the car, Tokico adjustable shocks all the way around (Not sure which model, but I'm sure they aren't Illumina's). Again not positive but I believe the previous owner installed larger sway bars in the front, and rear, 15x7 wheels front, and rear... don't remember what size tires are mounted... the car is at the mechanics getting a new clutch installed. I've had the car for 20 yrs, or so... and haven't done any suspension mod's or upgrades.... What I'm looking for is to soften up the ride a bunch (I know ride qualit…
