Gentlemen, I've been in contact with Tony Woodward over at http://www.woodwardsteering.com/. He is open to the idea of producing his steering u-joint spined for the Z's rack, which has 28 splines at about .560" diameter. At present, factory replacements are NLA, and there aren't any other sources that I know of. This would be a great resource. He would like multimple samples, I'm looking for anyone willing to cut off the splined portion from a scrap rack. I'm acting as the liason, and would like to accumulate as many as possible before shipping them to him, don't worry, I won't flake out on this...PM me for my address. Does anybody know what other Datsun/Nissan mode…

Does anybody have any opinions on these? Tokico HPK Kit NISSAN 280Z. I'm thinking about buying some for my '77 and would like to hear from someone that has them. Thanks for any replies.

The front of my 1972 240Z rides noticeably higher (3" or so) than the rear. New KYB struts are going on but shouldn't affect the ride height. Does anyone have experience with cutting a coil off the front springs to level things out?

Hello, My Front sway bar end links and bushings arrived, and I thought I might as well try and sand the bar down (I don't have access to a sand blaster) and give it a quick shot of paint. Any suggestions for paint? How much does a sway bar flex, will I need a special flexible paint?

Decided I am gonna commit to properly lowring my car. The price of eibach springs isn't too bad new and I've a couple used sets, but the price of proper struts is kinda harsh. I notice a company called stagg 4 lists full sets for 110 dollars that are meant to work with lowering springs. Has anybody used them? Also I know soneone who has a set of suspension techniques springs for sale new unused, I was wondering if anybody's used these before, and how they performed. If the ST springs give me a little more drop than I might get them as it is an aesthetic more than anything, but I am also doing it for performance purposes, so I don't want junk under my car.

So I was ready to section my strut housings until I put my one of my front KYB struts into a front housing and found the strut already seems too long for the housing - can't screw in the cap - about 2 inches off. Do I have the wrong shocks (link below)? The bottom of the housing (tube) looks like it might have been modified (picture attached). Does that look factory or is there a chance they've been modified? I appreciate your help. Thanks, John KYB 4 Shocks Datsun Nissan 280z 75 to 78 260z 74 75 Late Check Vin No | eBay

I just got finished having the the suspension re-freshed on my '72. I went with KYB shock, Eibach springs, new tie-rods ball joints, wheel bearing and a mix of poly and rubber bushings for both front and rear. MSA, Black Dragon and NAPA were my suppliers. While I "was in there" I media blasted years for grime and painted all the bits and pieces chassis black. It sits on 5" and 7" by VTO LeMans wheels with 205/55-15 Yokohama S-Drive tires. The goal was a sporty ride, not "boy-racer". It handles and rides wonderfully!

So before you immediately condemn me for Even suggesting such an idea, let me explain my problem. When we first decided to ressurect the datsun, one the things I knew was gonna need done were the struts, there the reason my brother first stopped driving the car. So while it was stil sitting on a dirt floor garage, there was for monroe struts going on, buy 3 get one free, so after rebate thats about 150 for premium oem replacements. well I hadn't done much research yet but figured at that price I'd pick up a set. Well once I had it home on flat concrete I realized it sits up really high for a sports car. I at the time didn't realize it wasn't kosher to use stock struts wit…

I would like to know how to properly lower my 280Z (1975). Because of the bumper height restrictions and added weight for new style crash bumpers, the bigger stock original springs make the car currently sit like it is ready for a rally race. So, I would like to know the correct way to lower the car without having a negative impact on the geometry. Does this involve new lowering springs, struts, shocks and bumper stops? I hear that some people cut their original springs down. Hoping some fellow Z-owner will share his suspension wisdom.

Hi I installed Tokicos 5way illumina on my 240z. Everything works well but when you adjust the settings 1-5 i can turn the screw for the settings round and round, is that normal. I thought it should stop at 1 and stop at 5?

I've been doing a bunch of suspension work to my 77 this off-season and part of that work has been on my rear corners. While I was poking around at MSA putting together an order, I saw these things they called "Spindle Pin Rubber Washers". Description from their website MSA Spindle Pin Rubber Washer: The spindle pin rubber washer attaches to each end of the spindle pin between the metal washer and the control arm to seal out dust and debris. These washers are only used with factory rubber bushings. Four required and they’re sold individually. There was no such washer on my car when I took it apart, but since I was placing an order anyway, I bought four. Question…
