Just wanted to throw out that I have a complete 240Z rear subframe in great condition for sale. Its on our classifieds and has some extras on it. Check it out. I'd rather someone from here grab it then have to post it over at hybridZ forums. Let me know if you have any questions . . If this isn't ok I'll just remove it right away. Just felt like I should post it here to let everyone know.

While it's just temporary until I can afford a real suspension I'm trying cut springs and different spring options. Currently I'm running the normal 240z springs but I found a good set of 280z springs. Now I was told the 280z has a stiffer spring but it's a softer rate than the 240z, is that true? I was looking for a somewhat stiffer ride. I've looked around and haven't seen anything on this mostly 240z springs on 260's and 280's.

So I am making good progress on the rear end refresh of my 260Z and thought that the worst was behind me after I had removed the inner sleeves of both the outer control arms (ie spindle pin bushings) as well as the moustache bar. However, I have a question about the installation of the new outer control arm bushings. I have opted to go with the original rubber bushings from Nissan instead of poly. Is there a trick or technique to installing these? I have a large shop press but the configuration of the control arms does not provide enough clearance to actually use the press. I have attempted to use a large vice along with a socket as a press, but even with a fair amount…

I've got the g machine front and rear delrin offset bushes but I cant seem to find a definitive answer on whether they should be lubed or not. Some forums say they are self lubing? Others use white lithium grease on the inner part of the bushing.

So I just picked up a 78 and I bought it knowing that the frame had some problems. But upon closer inspection it is horrible both sides are like a magic trick they are just missing rotted thru both sides from the floor pans to the cross member. To the point that if you push on the drivers side wheel you can watch the whole frame move. I think it is past the point of putting bad dog rails in it. So asking for advice. Should I buy the front half of a can and get it welded in. Or do you think the frame rails would take care of it.

Hey everybody! It's been a while. After just enjoying the Z for a couple of years, I'm finally ready to tear it apart again. At least the rear end. I just ordered a Suspension Techniques rear sway bar kit, and I'm thinking about strut/spring combos. I searched a bunch of posts, but couldn't really find anything for my specific situation. The existing setup is stock (original springs, no sway bar), but the struts aren't original (but not done by me either, so I don't know what they are, or how old). A lot of what I read said that the rear sway bar alone would make a huge difference, and doing stiffer springs and new struts may make the car too stiff. I drive it …

So I'm having the mechanic install new bearings while I wait for better weather, and today I get a call from his boss to come over to look t a problem with the axle. When I got there, he explain the guy was turning the stub axle nut off, and stripped off most of the threads. I asked why he didn't consult the documents I provided, and he said there was no need, the tech used a punch to loosen up the peened area of the nut. The FSM says to "remove the wheel bearing lock nut." the Atlantic Z writeup says you should use a mototool/Dremel with a small cutoff wheel to cut off the outer, peened ring That obviously didn't work, because the tech guy just turned the nut off an…

I want to replace my rear struts, but not sure if I need to same length or some with a shorter extended length. My car has Suspension Techniques springs and Tokico struts. The springs are not compressed by the cap, isolator, pocket on the strut and tight against the spring pockets when out of the car. Is the weight of the car enough to keep them tight against the pockets or do I need to look for a different strut?

I need strut insulators for my late year 260z. Seems the proper item is very hard to find. Curtesy Nissan has a super imposed number for the original part that references to the same part as the 240z. This is about 3/4 of an inch lower then the original.Has anybody used this lower strut insulator on their late 260z or 280z. Did it make the rear droop. Is it very noticeable. How was the ride. Thanks ZDude1967

I used the search function and didn't find a clear answer to my question... I called MSA and told them that I have a '70 240Z with the original 4-speed and that it's loose where the pin goes through the fork. The sold me a new pin & snap ring, which I installed. It didn't make any difference. Is there suppose to be nylon bushings, washers, or something else there besides just the pin & snap ring? Thanks, Steve
