I've got a new set of Eibachs, and they are pretty light on the destructions. Two of them are shorter and have tighter coils that change to wider near the ends, and the other two are longer and are more linear in design. Also, which way up should I install these? Tighter coils on the bottom and wider towards the top, or tighter coils up top and wider on the bottom? I should be able to get a picture up at lunch.

I am replacing my strut inserts rear and front, (Rear) we disconnected the parking brake, brake line, removed the 4 bolts holding the shaft to the hub and strut bar link. removed the 3 tower nuts and lowered the assembly and swung it out. Compressed the spring and removed the insert nut. removed the insulator and spring carage. The insulator has a bushing pressed into it, but i saw no bump stop ???? where does it go ???

I am rebuilding the front suspension on my 72 240z and I have two metal plates that are about 2.5 in by 6in with two holes in them. I thought they were stiffener plates for the motor mounts but I don't see how they fit. These are not shown in any of my service manuals. Any ideas where they go? Thanks Bob M

Well I'm finally getting to pull the front brakes apart on my recently acquired 71 240z. The rotors need to be replaced (or turned at least) as they are pretty rusty. The calipers need to be checked yet. I will probably replace the pads just because they have been sitting for 25 years untouched - they have plenty of thickness. Any comments on that part of the process are welcome as well but my primary concern here is the tie rods/ends and the ball joints. In the attached pictures the front suspension is just hanging as the car is supported from the center jack point. Are the tie rod ends trashed or do just look like this? To me they look like they should be pulled up t…

Hey guys-- Just bought a 1982 280zx and working diligently to restore it! I have a little issue that maybe somebody here has dealt with before. I'm trying to replace the Power Steering Rack but one of the power steering fluid lines (metal with bolt-like head) has a bolt that is worn down to the point where a wrench cannot grab it successfully! Any thoughts on how to remove it? Or should I scrap it for another line? Thanks!!

I own a 77 280z. I've installed Tokico springs and shocks, but would still like the car to drop a little more. i know that early model 240z's have a shorter/smaller strut mount insulator. will those fit in the rear of my 280z and in an essence lower the rear a bit? thanks for any info.

I installed a 1" MSA front sway bar on my '73 with an L28. There is only about 1/8" of clearance between the bar and the oil pump. Does anyone else out there have this experience? If so, to the two ever contact eachother? Thanks.

So I think I figured out why the car dog-tracks a bit. I got a good look at the suspension while the car was getting new tires put on today. Maybe this is the way it's supposed to be and I need to look elsewhere, but it definitely looks like someone at some point needed to replace the left rear LCA and ended up using an inverted right-side one instead. If those two arms have camber and toe designed into their angles, that would definitely explain why the left side is funky. image one, the right side with control arm apparently right-side-up http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/AwwsChwA/z%20parts/?action=view¤t=rightLCA.jpg image two, the left side with what…

Alright, my new Eibach/Tokico package is in the mail, but there's something odd about that passenger side rear suspension and I'm wondering what I should be looking for when I tear it down. The other three corners are saggy, gooshy-reacting when pushed down on suspension bits. They squish down progressively and bound back up like normal. However that rear corner isn't doing that. Its much harder to push down, and when you finally get enough weight on it, it "thunks" and then squishes a little. When driving, if you go over bumps you can hear something wrong on that side, and it feels like someone hit the rear quarter with a rubber mallet. Anyways, just wondering what t…

Hello I found a supprise under my under coating and am not sure how to go about fixing. Should I cut out this area? How fare up should I go? There are two pices of metal the one is part of the fender sheet. The other must be a pice spot welded for a stiffiner. What is the thickness of the metal? As you can also see my T/C mounts are very very bent up. Is this a avlable pice for replacement? I have only found fraim rails. They state they dont come with the T/C mounting brackets. Wow what was some one thinking:cry:
