Hi, I'm wondering if those people out there with a 260 or 280 2+2 might be able to tell me what the front track (in mm) is on their car from the face of the brake rotor that the wheels bolt to. Also the distance between the bolts that hold the front crossmember to the rails. I understand the 2+2 bodys are wider but I'd like to know if a 2+2 front end would go into a 240z to increase the track without having to run 9inch & offset wheels to fill out bolt-on gaurd flares. I think setting the wheels that far out from where the suspension was designed to have them would throw off it's geometry and create excessively heavy steering and am looking for other options. If the t…

Higuys ( and babes), I was contemplating the fitment of a trut bar in the back of my 280Z, and besides the actual bolting-on of the thing, I would probably want to get the covers back on the seatbelt retractors. First of all, would a 280Z benefit from the addition of the strut bar? Personally I don't think I can tell if there is any flexing of the body. I'm probably more aware of the screaming tires  than flexing. Is there enough room under the retractor to bolt on a strut bar? I think you'd need to cut a slot in the cover for the bar to go through, so would that spoil the looks of things? thxZ

I took the Z in to a muffler shop to get a price to install my new MagnaFlow. While it was up on the lift, I noticed something that I think might explain the rear end sag I'm having on the passenger side. It looks like the pass. side rear control arm (if thats the right term) is upside down. But then I look in my Haynes manual, and the diagram there looks like mine does. So is something installed wrong here, or does it just look that way?

I use my early '71 as a track car. With the tracks around here, the driver's front wheel bearings take a lot of abuse. While swapping tires the other day, I noticed some play in the wheel bearings. Tightening didn't help, so I took it apart for closer inspection. The outer bearing race had a visable shaddow where the bearings were rolling, but not really a groove that could be felt. I replaced the bearings anyway since they were about 2 years old, and like I said, it is a track car and gets a lot of abuse. With the new bearings installed, I still get some play in the bearings. I know the races were seated well. Any ideas on what the problem could be. I need to get…

I just replaced worn bushings on the trailing arms and put back the front sway bar from Suspension technique with urethane bushings. On small bumps at low speed, the front end squeaks... Is it beacuse of the urethane bushings???

Does anyone know if these are correct for S30s. My friend gave me two boxes of them. I plan to unload them but don't know what they are for. He said they are S30 I checked the internet and could not find a matching part number. They are brand new, but old. I already have STs on my Z so I don't need them.

I just sold two sets of the reproduction Euro Spec springs that I got on a group buy from Courtesy Nissan a few years ago. I never installed them - does anyone know what the color coding is for spring location? I know that the two yellows are the rear. I looked on one of my parts cars and the red was on the left, but it was an American market car so I'm not sure if it's the same. I searched the archives and couldn't find the original posts. Which side is red and which is blue? Thank you in advance...

I guess the tokico illumnias are the best thing available at this point. Is $499 a good deal for the set of struts and springs for a 240z?

When I got my new wheels the shop couldn't adjust my rear wheels and get them aligned. I notice a little steering wheel bounce now. I saw a kit I think at MSA and I can't find it now to help adjust this. Can someone explain to me what this kit does, why it's needed and how difficult it is to install? If anyone has a link to it too I'd appreciate it. I'd just like to get all the wheels aligned and know what's going on with this kit.

Hi everyone. I've fried one of my front hubs (sticking caliper cooked wheel bearings) and cannot find one. I was wondering if any of my local fellow members have any ideas as to where to locate one? Thanks, Dan
