I have been adding wires to the starter motor pos. (+) terminal/bold to run power to a power inverter, and I might add some extra lamps or headlamp relays to the front end, and you can barely get the nut on that starter terminal bolt now, so I think it would be better to have some kind of power distribution point near the battery? Some ideas I thought of are to grab a small underhood fusebox from a small modern car or to add a terminal block to the fender near the alternator. What options are there that would be appropriate for the S30? I'll add that the positive battery clamp has a pigtail on it that is already in use, so I think I would add an eye terminal to go to …

I am getting the final preparations to putting the dash back in my car and have found a set of wires I cannot identify. I have a color wiring diagram and I cannot find it among all the other wires? It appears to be a source of power but I am not sure for what. The wires are red with a blue stripe. Thanks! Carl

I have a 1973 240z and it wasn't getting any gas, so I blew the fuel lines and cleaned the tank then I bought a new fuel pump and connected it. My problem is that the pump is not getting enough power. I measured how much electricity the pump is getting and it was only 0.04 volts. So I traced all the wiring that goes to the pump and I think I found the problem. the wire that I think powers the pump is connected to a relay on the passengers side. the power going in is 11.08 volts but the other three wires that go to or are coming out of the relay only have 0.03 volts. is this normal?when I test them I have the key on the ON position. how many volts should be comi…

Greetings all I have a stock 75 280z. Electronic ignition. When I try to use my digital multimeter (set to 6 cylinder) to set my rpm. After I connect ONE meter wire to the coil I get a rpm reading but as soon as I hook the other to a ground, the meter zeros out. If I hold it close to coil I get a reading, but as soon as it touches metal it goes to zero.Reading varies by how close I hold meter ground wire to coil or metal. Doesn't seem to make a difference on what meter wire configuration I use. Been fixing cars for 40 years never ran across this before, searched google, searched here and other z sites. Must not be using right search phrase. I'm stumped! any ideas why it…

1976 280z: I've just replaced my starter and for fome reason it won't crank anymore. I've narrowed it down to my "excite" wire on the solenoid. I've rigged a switch connecting the + battery to the male connector on the solenoid spade, so I turn the key and flip the switch for a second or two and presto! It's a bit annoying and probably not very safe. Where does the excite wire lead to? I see it going into a mess of other wires that are all electric-tapped together. But I'd like to know if anyone could tell me where it ends up before I start taking everything apart.

Sorry not sure if this has been already posted but could not find anything specific on it. I should start from the begining, I had the issue with the fuse block melting to a point on the headlight fuse. So bought a new fuse block off zstore and threw that in, all was well and good till i connected the battery and it blew the instrument/dome light fuse. While troubleshooting I disconnected the 2 wires that are on the side of the ignition switch and tried again, no blown fuse, everything works fine, so am curious what do these wires do, and are they important. Any feedback y'all could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I can move the trim part that runs left to right across the middle of the tail light. I would like to remove and paint it. Any tips on its removal? Is it 2 way tape or are there plastic studs that go into the red plastic body that are glued/fastened/melted on the inside?

Hello, I am still making that 240ZG model but am having trouble finding a picture of an original battery. The closest I got was a thread by kats ( http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13095&page=1 ) but still no dice. Does anyone know what they looked like, or even better have a picture of one? I would much appreciate it

Im looking to upgrade to an electrical ignition system on my 1973 240Z. I was thinking of going with an MSD ignition and coil. From what I have read on the forums im getting confused on what I have to do with regards to the distributor and what I need to do to have a successful setup. Can someone please explain everything I need to do to get this working properly and what parts I will need. OR if there is a link to a write up. Thanks for the help.
