I have read these forums all day. For literally hours (I started around 11am today, and while I have't been at it constantly, I must have covered nearly every thread on this site dating back to 2004). Everything I've read said 'it shouldn't work.' I bought a 'new' wiring harness for my Series-1 (2/'70). I also bought one of the AM/FM radios from the later models, since I wasn't willing to shell out for the original. It'd be great to have, but supply & demand has wrought havoc on the market for those things. $350...? Reading up today, the early wiring harness should not be compatible (hook-ups, that is) with this AM/FM radio. But out of curiosity, I pulled al…

Hello Guys, I need some help. I got all the electrical components working except for this center console or dash unit. Photo is attached. This has the three control indicator for the fog, hazard and seat belt. As shown in the picture, I am or my mechanic cannot find where to plug it. I cannot see the harness or wire that it need to be attached. Please send me photos where it is in your cars and where or what I need to do to get it connected. I would at least need photos or instructions what wrires I need to connect it to to get this unit working. I aslo need a wiper motor because I now discovered that mine does not work. I am now on a tight budget and exhausted but I can …

Forgive my green question as I'm relatively new to Datsuns. Heater blower and choke/seat belt/defrost lights don't work. Are these on the same fuse? All fuses look intact. Are these issues potentially linked in any way? Could it be a fusible link that's melted? I may be stretching on this one.

The right front turn signal light lights when the brakes are applied. Turn signal flashes but when brakes are applied flashing stops in front and light operates as a brake light. Any suggestions as to where to start looking?

Did the upgrade and it's great but did anyone come up with a solution for the 73 models and the fuel pump reley problem. I saw where we should cut the wires and install a switch but isn't there a way to wire in a relay on the ON side of the ignition switch that would power the fuel pump relay. I'm not sure I want to mount a switch on the dash/center consual and them possibly forget to turn off the switch.

On my '78- Now that I have the splash guards (or inner fenders) repaired, I need to know how to route the wiring for the headlamps through or around them from the hole in the inner fender. There aren't any obvious bulges or rubber fittings like the inner fender has, so I may have to install something. The PO had them going through a crack that had developed. Are there any good photos? thxZ

Well, i was going to splice the wires but after looking it over i chose not to.. i'm looking for a good Zcar junkyard to call up / go looking. I've been over google a few times, and i've emailed a few people already. However its been 5 days no reply.. I'm starting to get desperate because these are all i need to drive the car. Here are pictures, and wiring diagrams of what i am looking for in case anyone has them and would part them.

Look what I got in the mail! I am going to take some before and after pictures. Mind you I have Cibie headlamps from 1979 with an original purchase price of $54! a lot of money in 1979. Frankly the Cibies are pretty good but wanted to try these out. These headlamps are made by a company called "Truck-Lite". http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/GenericView?pageName=/new/PressReleases_en_US/12vLEDHeadlamp.html&storeId=10001&langId=-1 They are a Tier 1 OEM supplier of lighting and harnessing to the trucking industry. These headlamps are currently in use by the military in Iraq and Afghanistan, in Humvees. I have actually seen these lamps in m…

I am replacing a burned out crane ignition system on my 260z with a GM HEI module and will be installing a rebuilt distributor. I have found a lot of useful information on this forum, but still have one question. When connecting the pickup leads to the module the discussions refer to the positive and negative leads. My disributor has a plug with a maie and female connector from the pickup. My question is this: which is the positive lead and which is the negative lead? Thanks

I've done the headlight upgrade harness, followed the instructions but something is not right. Turn on the running lights ( position 1 ) and I have side markers, tails, front driver headlight and front driver running lamp and no turn signals. Turn on headlights ( position 2 ) and I have all lamps, no turns, and no driver high beam. Anyone run into this?
