I’m trying to track down an electrical issue and I’m going through the fsm and I found the wire I’m looking for, but it goes through the connector c-1. The issue is that on the last page, it shows the connector with the same shape that I saw on the diagram, but it has an arrow pointing to a different shaped connector. Does anyone know what this means? Image is attached.

Finally got my horn circuit working, but the horns just go "Doink." I know they can be taken apart, cleaned, and adjusted. But, has anyone got an aftermarket set they think sounds cool for a Z ? Looking for plug and play. Thanks!

Wondering if any folks knew the codes associated with the blanks for this common, not original ignition switch replacement . Keys are labeled car show with a unique identifier C23425? I noticed there are a lot of custom key blanks for the originals, but I wasn’t able to dig up if these are made for a bluebird or a 510 . ( note there is no door alarm functionality in this unit ). Any help is appreciated !

Max McCroskey at Resurrected Classics told me about this ignition at the ZCON People's Choice Show. It's like the Pertronix but at a much lower cost. Hot Spark Ignition for Hitachi They even offer volume pricing. It's cheap enough to order a couple of extra to keep as spares. https://www.ebay.com/itm/323788985736 Disclaimer: I have not used the Hot Spark ignition, and I have not installed it on anybody's car. I cannot speak to the quality or reliability of it.

Ok, another turn signal oddity. My hazards work and both arrows blink and light up in the dash. My turn signals both work but the right side does not light up in the dash. Any ideas?

Hey, next up on the electrical list is the horn and I've hit a bit of a wall. If I push the horn I get no noise and no noticeable relay sound. First thing I did was check and swap the fuse and no difference. My column does have the brass arm contacting the steering wheel and I do measure 12V on the red wire connecting to it. I tried measuring the voltage at the horns alone and didn't get any voltage but I'll try and confirm when I can get a friend to help I also confirmed that when pushing the horn button that the horn switch does get grounded. To me it seems like an issue at the relay which I want to check next. Looking at the the FSM it says the horn rela…

HELP!! I seemed to have created an issue in removing my radio, and I need help diagnosing/fixing. Car: is a ’72 240Z with standard/stock points ignition. The car ran great prior to radio removal. Current Symptoms: 1) Tachometer pins to max when ignition switched on. (Goes to zero with Ignition off) 2) Poor performance (low power) while driving. Everything else seems to work fine. The radio and heater control panel are currently out of the car. Events leading to issue: The car was running great. The radio did not power on, although the antenna switch on the the radio worked to raise/lower the antenna. I carefully removed my radio to diagnose…

Hi all, Question: Does anyone have a bench testing procedure for a stock '72 radio? I'm hoping to get the radio in my '72 240z working. I've removed the radio and found some burned/corroded speaker wires which I've sorted out. The antenna switch works fine (goes up and down with the switch). The blue light does NOT turn on. The radio is a Hitachi KM-152OZC. I just saw one on eBay for $2,000, so yeah, I'd like to fix mine. THANKS

Hi all, a problem came up the other day (the left turn signal quit working) and I'm not that up on electronics in the car. The car is 1976 280Z (11/75), all original has had no modifications to electrical at all. 53K miles on the car. What I know so far. 1. The blinkers hazards (4 way's work). Even the left side. 2. New bulbs as of this year. 3. Right turn side works and at the correct blinking speed. 4. I did take out the turn signal switch out and it looks and seems ok, no wear or burning. 5. I do have a service manual and tried to see what it could be (not much experience in reading electrical), it looks like there are two flasher units…

Okay, so today I re-turned the ignition lock key a little to quick, and suddenly nothing anymore. I know this problem is posted before here. Battery is good. But nothing is working. Where lies the problem ? Fuses are all OK. Amp meter ? I don't know how the 240z is wired exactly, since its been a long time I have been doing anything electrical on it. Gr Bart

I am to un-upgrade the fusible links in my ‘78 280Z back to the OEM fusible links. Seems everyone goes the other way, so I would think the old fusible links should be around?? Any help sourcing the OEM fusible link bases (2) and holders would be greatly appreciated. The covers and wires are readily available. thank you!!

Hey, I just picked up a 1973 240Z and after taking it out on it's first drive I noticed the turn signals didn't appear to work. After leaving the car parked in the sun for an hour or so when I drove home they were working again After I got home I was testing all the lights and noticed the left rear turn signal wasn't working. The hazards worked as well (all 4 corners). I couldn't check the brake lights at the time At some point I was testing the turn signals with the lights on and the turn signals flashed slower and then stopped altogether. The hazards still work. I tested the turn signal flasher relay by hooking it up directly to the battery and after some…
