My 73 stock has developed some slight gasoline leakage around the gasket for the fuel level sending unit. I've looked at the arrangement a bit and gotten the wires off. Its not obvious how to remove the sending unit. It looks like a simple twist of that ring will get it loose. This does not seem like a very reliable way of securing something that is holding back a full tank of gas. :paranoid: It looks like if I grab that ring with channel lock pliers it would come loose with about a 180deg rotation. Is that right? Don

I was given a Crane XR-3000 Points convertor and a PS-91 Coil. I want to install this in my (11/72)-73 240. Does anyone know how it wires up and can I use my Tach. I have read a lot of forums about this and some talk about the tach either frying or not working after the install. I don't have the manual from Crane but have downloaded one, but it doesn't seem to include my setup for the coil and tach. I do know the Red wire from the module goes to the + on the coil and the Yellow to the -, but how does the tach wire in. I have the B/W wire and the G/W wire on the original setup going through a ballast resistor. Do I leave the ballast resistor inline with the PS-91? …

Does anyone know if the resistance range on the sending unit on the 240 vs 280 is similar? Reason I'm asking is that I'd like to swap out the combo ammeter/fuel guage on my 240 for the fuel/voltage gauge from a 280z. Hopefully, the resistance range is similar. Reason I'm doing this is that I've routed the ammeter charge wire direct to the battery instead of the thru the ammeter in the car. I had excessive voltage drop coming into and out of the car interior. BTW, I did route it directly thru an inline fuse. It perked up the charge voltage at idle substantially. regards Don

Pulled out a Hitachi radio model no. KMS-3611B. This has an 8-pin connector using all 8 pins, and a 6-pin connector using 5 pins. I'm trying to find out what exactly these thirteen wires are. I downloaded a previous wiring diagram, but it only shows where 8 of the wires go. If anyone has a complete diagram, it would be extremely helpful!

hello, I just got a Mallory Unilite distributor and also purchased a MSD Blaster 2 coil. I was wondering, if I need to install the ballast resistor (MSD part number: PN8203)

I am planning my restore and came across a Hays ignition that was installed in 76 by the PO. What is involved with reverting back to points and condensor? The first pic below is the ignition mounted on the drivers side wheel well. The second picture is of a box on the passenger side wheel well. Every picture I have seen of other series 1 z's dont have this box (relay???). And the third picture is of the fine paint job that was applied over the gold paint by the PO. It just flakes off in some areas. I wish it would all flake off and get me back to the original color. I am trying really hard to get the car back to all original. Any input would be appreciated. Tha…

I'm getting ready to undercoat the rest of the interior in my bronze '78 280z and then install soundproofing and new carpet. Can anyone tell me where or to what this connector goes? It is part of the wiring harness on the passenger side floorboard and does not appear to be connected to the console wiring harness. I've matched the parking brake and drivers seat belt warning light connections but forgot to label this one when I took the interior out. Thanks!

I was just going through the boxes in my garage and I found four of these combo switches for the lights and wipers. I think they are 280Z switches from my Pick and Pull diving days... What are they worth? Do they work on my 240Z or should I just sell them?

I need to replace my speedometer dash bulb, although i can't seem to find any information on doing this in the FSM. I also cannot find any relevant information on the boards on how to replace the bulb without ripping the dashboard out. I am not going to be taking the dash out again...i'd rather drive with no speedo-lights at night then go through that headache again. I also doubt that Nissan made a car that required dashboard removal to change a bulb. So that leads me to ask, "How do i change the speedometer bulb?" A step by step, pictures, or just any advice would be great. Information on the bulb size would also be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Hi Folks: First post. Helping my friend with his car. Just been removed from long term storage and he tells me he has no fuel flow to the injectors. Figured I would start at the fuse panel. Is there a fuse or fuseable link for the fuel pump and where is it? From there I'll put my multi meter on the lead at the pump and see if there is power to the unit. I read the "key on key off or starter engaged" debate. Very light hearted... I have no schematic which would help. By the way I know nothing about these cars but I'm a mechanic by training and should be able to struggle through with the help of this forum. Very Respectfully, 60Vette
