I have a 71 240 Z in which I have replaced the wiring harness on the dash. The flashers do not work and the turn signals do not work when the flasher switch is turned to the on position. Can anyone give me an idea of the solution to this? Jim Lewis

Hi Everyone. I just bought a NOS (24110-N7603) positive battery cable. They said it was for a 1978 Z but I have my doubts. Please take a look and tell me if it looks correct or not. It is about 30 inches long and says SHINAGAWA DENSEN on the cable. Now, if I got lucky and got a good one, I still need the negative and haven't been able to find one anywhere. So, if anyone has a nice one to sell send me a PM. Thanks! -Mike

I've got a 77 built in April. Can't find the voltage regulator anywhere (the car's in pieces!). Is it true - or possible - that Datsun began producing 77's with alternators that had internal voltage regulators? I've got wiring diagrams, a 78 harness, a 77 service manual, and lots of opinions, but still can't locate an external voltage regulator anywhere.... Someone... please... tell me I'm not losin' it!!!

I have a 280z 1978. The other day i'm driving to work and next thing I know I've lost my dash lights. I also lost my side marker lights and tail lights. I have head lights,brake lights,turn signals and flashers work. I've checked my ground in the back of the car.All fuses changed. The headlight switch is new (but it could be bad??). I am bad on eletrical issues. Any help would be great. Ken P.S. I did do a search but at a loss.

77 a/t 280z the tach is acting very strange. it will rise w/ engine revolutions, but will then stop at the highest rpm it was just revved to. it stays and won't go back down!? it can be revved higher, but it sticks at the higher rpm on the tach and so on until it hits the rev limiter. the needle will then go back down after the car is turned off and sits for awhile. is it time for a new tach?

OK I took the dash out of the 72 240 I have and now after putting it back in the only thing I cant figure out is where did the brake light wires go/????? You have two wires coming off the brake pedal that tell the brakes to come on when the pedal is depressed,,,,where do they go? I cant find those two wires!! can someone look real quick and at least give me a rough idea as to where to start looking??

I have a 1975 280z. There is a black wire that is attached to the base of the AFM but is not connected to anything. I think this is supposed to ground the AFM??. Should it? Where should this connect to?

Now that I'm driving my 73, I'm trying to help a friend get her 77 280 running. The car is stock, 80,000 miles. The fuel injectors were replaced, and the whole fuel system flushed, last year. New plugs, wires, rotor, cap. The car ran for a while, but they let it sit over the winter, and it won't start up now. First thing, the fusible links are a total mess. Someone spliced them together with whatever wire they could find, no terminals on the wires, corroded, etc. I know Courtesy sells the fusible links in 3 gauges, in 3 corresponding colors. What are the gauges that I need, and does anyone have a pic of the fusible links installed, so I know which color wires go t…

77 a/t 280z there are 3 sensors on the upper radiator neck. one has a male bullet connector and the other 2 have clips with 2 wires going in to each. what are each of these sensors for? particularly the one that needs a 25mm socket

I just recently bought a 1983 280zx turbo for only 2000 its my project car. It has a digital dash in it and the fuel and temp you can see but the tach and speed is black in the day light but at night you can see the tach and speed barely. Could this problem be fixed or does it need replacing. I've been using my GPS to tell my speed. Thanks for any help
