Howdy folks. My mother owns a 240Z, though I can't remember which year it is. Like the title says, the wipers only work when it isn't raining, so if it's dry out they work just fine, but then as soon as it starts raining they stop. Sometimes even just using the washers will make them stop. Snow will also stop them. She has tried taking it in to a couple mechanics but none of them have had any success with it. Including an "electrical specialist" that she took it to. So I thought I'd give it a try since it's her only form of transportation at the moment. I've spent some time looking through the archives here and haven't found anything similar. Any thoughts?

This is on my '78 280Z. I suppose I need to post the car's saga on an intro thread some day soon; it's very...interesting. The wiring is FUBAR thanks to the PO...a cut-and-splice job from Hell. There's wire nuts in place of the fusible links. Anybody ever wanted to track down a PO and choke the living &^%# out of him while screaming, "What were you THINKING, man?" That's about the way I feel right now. Last week, I was working on the car and discovered there was no fire going to the injectors. "Fixed" that problem by jumpering across the plug for the EFI main relay. Fired right up after I did that and ran like a champ. Today I go to play with her and...nothing. So I s…

Well, as projected earlier this year, I've run out of female connectors that make the PLH "Plug and Play" for the pre 3/73' 240Z. So all Parking light upgrade harness's are now Hard-wire only. Unless someone can find me a whole bunch of the female connectors shown below. If anyone has spare female connectors that they'd like to sell me, I'll give you $1.50 a peice. That's more than I was paying for the brand new ones when they were available. Please contact me at wolfin32z@yahoo.com The good news is that the Hard wire version is still available for all S30's. But you'll have to cut just 1 wire and tie in my harness. It's very easy takes only a minute longer than the P…

Does anyone know where I can purchase some new relays? I seem to be missing one from where it should be. According to my Automotive Repair Manual it states that it is the Air-con relay. I brought one of the other relays in to autozone and O'reilly's but neither could find one. Just curious if anyone knew.

Hi folks mine is a late '73 240z 4speed and and when i accelerate from a standstill, i head a solenoid click at around 2500rpm coming from the passenger kick panel electrical board. What is that solenoid anyways ? There's no electrical fuel pump on this car, but 2 unplugged wires with the 2 fuel gauge wires at the tank. am I missing a pump? it has a mecanical one, of course. Always wondered if that solenoid is somehow related to the fuel system.

I have a fairly new 180 degree T stat in my 73 240Z. The temp guage never goes past the middle of the guage even on the hotest south Ga days. Lately, while driving at highway speeds, the temp guage will go back to zero. A few minutes later, the guage will go back to the normal reading. I have converted the car to a closed system with a surge tank. The coolant is at the proper level when the car is cold. I have also checked the temp sender connections, and all is well. Any suggestions guys or gals?

Hey All, Just gotta tell you with all the info here I got the 240 to fire right up with the 280 dizzy. I even found a few threads on NOT using the spendy little 12-80 module. It works great! With the 12-80 module I would have to use the Weber starting procedures (two pedal pumps and third pedal to start). With the 12-80 module removed using the magnetic pickup from my MSD 6 connected to the 280's dizzy green and red wires it fires with no choke, no pedal pumps, no one third pedal! Fires up with less than a full crank too! I'm sold on that configuration! (I'll post schematics and pics later) But my tach does not work!!!!! I'm guessing I need the MSD 8910 tach ad…

Does this look right to you guys? I've got pretty poor driveability at low rpm, and I think maybe this might have something to do with it. Base timing is 15degs, but you can see that off idle it seems to retard (!) about 3 degrees before going all-in at about 2800rpm. I think it's a C210 Skyline distributor by the way, looks very much like an E12-80 but has a J-105 Mitsubishi module instead. Vac advance disconnected.
