Using the search: I found this only relavent reference to shunt) " on my 75-280 I only have 1 fusible link box, located on the relay bracket. Underneath this box, is a metal box, 2" x 2" x 6" and it contains a copper strip, shaped like a "m", and 2 glass fuses. 2 large gauge wires ( 8ga maybe ) one white and one white/red connect to the large metal strip, and 2 light gauge wire…

83zxt coolant temp was working fine and then just went black. No frame no bars. speedo and tach still operational. Anyone worked on one of these enough to know if this is fixable. I have an analog unit from a 79 would this be a direct swap or would I need to splice wires.

Can anyone with a ZX manual please see if their FSM shows any specific tests to perform on the E12-80 ignition module to check its proper functioning? A basic resistance test with values not to exceed? Something along those lines? Thanks. -e

On my 76 280Z when I have the AC fan on #4 which is high, after about 10 minutes the motor starts whining. If I hit a bump in the road or turn it down to #3 it will stop whining for awhile.Does this sound like the bearings in the motor going out? If so should I stick to a Nissan replacement or an aftermarket. I don't even know if I can still find a new Nissan. Thanks

My car has been laid up since May 2005 getting the body painted. I needed a jump to get her started this morning and once home threw the trickle charge on the battery. This evening she has power but when turning the starter over she just dims out and clicks. I noticed the original battery connectors are pretty beat up. I cleaned them up but they're so bad its impossible to get them to tightened down. I'm thinking it might be replacement time. I see cables online priced from over $100 down to $6.00. Surely you get what you pay for. What I have now is the lead post connectors with the adjustment screw on the side. Anyone have a suggestion? I see one online retailer sugge…

There are two connectors on the 'Black box' on the side of the ZX dizzy. They look like this |- . I bought a reman model from Autozone and it does not label them as B or C as is supposedly shown on the E-12-80 module. I have seen two wiring diagrams, one on jrdremers and the other on the technical section here. My set up will be the same as the tech article complete with the MSD connections. However, they don't agree. Tech article link http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13085&highlight=distributor Could someone please tell me if the 'top of the T' or the 'stem of the T' is the B connection? Thanks,

I have not been able to find one, where is it mounted? Some references say that 73's have them. I think my build date is 10/72. I am still in the process of bringing Dad's original 73 back to life, garaged since 1983.

Hi all! I have owned my 1971 240 for just over 3 weeks now. I am having some kind of charging problem. I just replaced both battery lugs with new and have a new battery. When I drive, the amp meter is positioned just barely to the plus (charge) side of the gauge. When I use the blinkers, it oscillates with them. When I turn on hte headlights, the amp meter jumps just to the negative (discharge) side of the gauge and definately starts draining the battery. Should I take the alternator out and have it tested? Should I just disconnect, and clean and reconnect every electrical connection under the hood? ( I eventually plan on this, but was gonna do it as I had time …
