OK This is what I've done. I did the relay upgrade 2 relays, 1 for the Hi and 1 for the lo beams. I'm using the connector at the rt side of the engine to get my 12 v and my Hi and Lo switching. I did a voltage check and there was no power for the hi side coming out of the connector. Sooo, I removed and cleaned the Hi Lo switch. It does "click", I also cleaned the contacts on the little see-saw thingy. Used emery cloth on every thing that had a contact. Still nothing on the Hi beams. So what else can I check? or if need "jump" wires to get the hi beams to work. Also for troubleshooting, I hit the power side of the Hi relay with battery power and they came on.

Hey folks, can somebody help me out? Earlier today as I was working inside the wheel-wells replacing my bumper ends I noticed that someone (probably the crazy 2nd P/O) had completely, cleanly, "snipped" all of the wires from the yellow side-marker lights on the front-end of my car. Can somebody please find me the correct diagram for this and/or tell me where everything should connect to?... Oh, and it might be helpful to know what gauge wire to use. Thanks!

I lost the low beam on the right side on my 280Z. Both Hi beams work tho. I checked the wiring using a test light and the circuits seem to be good, so I checked the lamp itself via the connector behind the rad support. the VOM shows (continuity) meaning that the filaments are good. My lamps are the Koito type, do those have filaments? I can look thgrough the glass, and I don't see any filaments, just some things that look like a ball on a stick? BTW, I bought some halogen lamps from the NAPA to install, assuming my one lamp was out, and the book says it's got MORE candellas, with LESS wattage! thx

I had bought a package off of ebay that included the msd6a, tack converter and a dizzy for a 240z. I was wondering if the dizzy I got was the elec. dizzy commonly used in the conversion. Could it be from a '79-81 zx? It doesn't have the vaccume advance attached to it, and the number on it is: D6F4-01 5505 22100N4201 -thanks

My tach is stuck at 3000 rpm. I assume this means it is internally faulty. Should I start searching for a replacement tach or is there something I can do with this one? Also what tachs interchange? Our car is a 1971 series one 240.

Hey all, Couldn't find much info on this after some searches.... I am replacing my stock L24 with a reman 280 ZX F54/P79 motor, and am trying to figure out fuel pump issues. Here's what I know: 1) The P79 head has the mech fuel pump hole blocked off (or rather, not cut out of the head casting) because of the nature of high pressure FI setups, and that all 280ZXs came with electric fuel pumps. 2) Low volume/pressure fuel pumps (3-4psi) are available for 240Zs. 3) The wiring for early electrical pumps (1973-74 carbed 140/260Z)seems to be relayed such that the pump is on to prime the motor, then essentially off when the motor is running (most of the work done by the mech …

I bought my '71 in CA and drove it back to Salem. I totally disassembled the car, restored it and have it back on the road. It did not have any horn when I drove it from Salinas to Salem. After taking the wiring out of it and doing a full over & under paint job and reinstalling the wiring... Still NO HORN. OK, I bought a new horn relay and installed it and... Still NO HORN. What is the process to check out the horn. I have a 11X14 wiring schematic but where do I start? I guess I need to see if I have power at the horn button, right? I can also try to see if my horns work with an APU battery source. I can just hook up each horn to see if it works. OK, if the horns work…

I bought an OEM radio and I want to swap it back into my '72 to replace the broken 1970's Pioneer that was in there. I just want to make sure I don't put the power wire to the speaker... Or if anyone knows what color is what. Even my '72 FSM doesn't say exactly what color wire does what...

1978 280Z Replaced with a new switch and worked fine for a few months then back to same problem. Took apart all connectors at steering column and under dash and sprayed contact cleaner. All connectors looked fine and shiny. Still nothing. Also checked connectors to each headlight by the headlight buckets in front of car. Help! Brake tag due soon.
