Has anyone replaced the tape used to cover the wireing hareness. Mine is old grimmy and tore-up. I want to replace it. I've thought about useing electrical tape, but that shrinks over time and leaves a sticky residue. Any suggestions on what kind of tape to use?

I own a '74 260 Z- the service manual states that 1 is black (1.25 mm(0.049) & 1 is green(0.5(0.020). The fusible link wire at the auto parts store is labled by gauge & amp. How do I match? And what circuit does the black protect and what does the green protect? Stacey

I want to go after the rear window defroster, which doesn't seem to be working; I turned it on one evening when it was foggeed up a little, and it didn't defog that much. I don't think there are any gaps in the gridlines, so Would it be better to optimize the voltage at the defroster terminals, or should I measure the current capacity of the circuit, to see it it's drawing XX amps, or what? thx

On my 1980 280zx there is what looks like a sensor under the throttle body with one white & black wire going to it, anybody know what it is? My second 280 has the same sensor but a third 280 injection setup I've got doesn't. Steve

I suddenly lost my tail and running lights, and dash lights in my 71. I still have headlights. Brake lights and turn signals still work as well. Fuses appear OK,and I guess its a ground or wiring issue. Where should i start to check? Can someone give me a real basic over view of using a test meter to check wiring? Also, I notice my headlight switch feels different as well. Used to take a bit more force to turn lights on, now it seems real eassy. i wonder if its a sign the switch itself is bad?

Hey all! Hope the fall weather has been as good for you as it has been here in GA. On the spur of the moment I bought late-model dual tone horns I would like to add to the 240 I am working on. The current horns sound pretty weak (but do function), so I thought an upgrade would be sorta cool. Has anyone had experience with wiring problems while doing this? The stock horns have a single lead from the wiring harness, while the new horns I bought have two spade connectors. Can I just ground the horns individually to the frame, or would that short out the circuit? (Obviously, I am new to wiring...) I have tried searching the forums but came up empty. If this has been d…

Would it be useful to run a grounding strap from the rear underside of the car to the front (attaching it to the unibody along the way)? Would this improve the ground performance over the entire body for such issues as dim lights or intermittent faults?

Has anybody done any looking into the best Spark plug wires-I know Vicky played around with the manufacturer that advertized the old capacitor issue, but has anybody really found out what is important. I am looking at the old standby, NGK, and trying to narrow down what is really important in a sparkplug wire-any EEs in the house? Will

Hey guys, I've installed a 105 amp alternator 1 wire GM model that does not fit up to our conventional z car bracket. I made one out of metal and welded it all up but it is allitle off and the alternator keeps getting loose and wont charge. I need to know if anyone has bought a special alternator bracket for the z car for a GM model alternator? Thanks guys!
