A while back, someone said he replaced the oil in his tach to keep the needle from jumping around. Does anyone remember or know the viscosity of this oil? I thought he said he used gear oil. Thanks, Victor.

Anyone have any experience with either of these (or anything similar)? <a href=http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=1378&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=627&iSubCat=628&iProductID=1378>Short Circuit Tester</a> <a href=http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=1411&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=627&iSubCat=628&iProductID=1411>Fault Finder</a> It seems like these could come in quite useful with our old cars. I've got an occasional short circuit somewhere in the brake light circuit that blows the fuse slowly. You can actually watch the center of the fuse change color and slow…

Hello everyone.....my 71 Z has recently started having headlight problems. It takes several seconds for them to come on and amp gauge bounces around when they are on. However, the lights don't flicker. Suspect a bad relay but switch may be the problem...any thoughts on this??? I have owned the car since 73 and this is a new one on me.

I've had a ongoing promlem with my 83 280 turbo. Driving along at "noload" power the fuel would cut out, if you stepped on the gas it would cough and accelerate properly. I took it to the dealer and after replacing all the sensors he said it was the brain. So I bit the bullet and replaces the computer. And no it wasn't the brain - it still did it. So I stuck it in storage to work on it later, but two years later I had to move it 10 miles to a new storage site. This time although it started and ran fine when I went to drive it any time I got over 1000 rpm it cut out. anyway I put it away for another 3 years then started it and moved it into the shop. The only sensor that…

Hey guys, Im chasing up a Chrysler Dual Ballaster Resistor and am having huge troubles finding one in AUS, so if anyone out there has one or has access to one i would greatly appreciate it. A single Ballaster is no good, it needs to be duel, they were common on 73-76 US vehicles. Thanks

I have been religously cleaning my engine bay today, but I was trying to make sure that no water or cleaning solution got near the battery and its associated wires. Maybe it has always been there, but the battery is making this very quite buzzing sound. Does anyone know what this phenomenon is? The battery is only 3 years old, and there is plenty of juice going through the wires. Hmm, I have noticed a slight increase in amps according to the gauge. What is up with my battery? Thank you in advance, Ben

Ok, I'm kind of stumped on this one. After coming back from racing the Z this past weekend, I've acquired a problem. The running lights, dash lights, and tail lights are no longer working in my car. Headlights and brake lights all work. They were working when I unloaded the car off the trailer Sunday night after getting home. I know because I had to turn the lights on to see what I was doing. Drove the car to work on Tuesday, it ran fine all during the day, but of course the sun was out and no need for lights. Got in it that evening to run to the store and the lights didn't work. Fuse was blown, so I put another in. Popped it within a few minutes (less than 10 mi…

i looked at my computer on my 280z because i noticed two wires cut coming from the harness, but they only turned out to be control unit check wires, but i also noticed two wires on the harness, (#20-21 circled in red) dont have a corresponding pin on the computer, and these wires go to the fuel injection relay, and my cars fuel injection system is running a little weird. if anyone could help me by checking their computer. preferrably someone with a 76 just to make sure its the excact same. i appreciate any help. comp.bmp
