Here is an easy one (hopefully). Finnally getting around to fixing several things that do not work. Several years ago, after working fine, my heater fan would not turn on with the switch. I presumed that it was as simple as the switch, however someone told me that it was probably the heater core. I do get heat but not from the blower. Any thoughts on this? If turns out to be the switch, does anyone have one available? Nothing on eBay.

During my attempts to get my clock hooked up and running I noticed two short wires with the male ends laying on the floor mats. The ends of the wires were corroded. I checked around some and found that they had broken off where they had been soldered onto the switches or bulbs. This is where age rears it's ugly head. Got them reattached. I can imagine that this could cause a lot of grief and pass unnoticed.

I might have gotten over my head a bit, but I went ahead and took off my dash to repair some electrical problems. I was hope someone might have charts or information on where to find wiring charts when i go to put my dash back on. Thanks Frankenstein Z

My 280z 2+2 has left me stranded 2x's now in the last week, just puttin along and everything just shuts off. I can turn key to "on" position and all gauges work and fuse panel shows no blown fuses. I get a faint smell of hot wire from the passenger floorboard for a minute,then clears . The 1st time I had her towed to my Mech, and the recent radiator flush may have left some air in the radiator, coolent was down about 1/2 gal,, thought that the zcar may have just shut itself, but temp gauge was ok? Ran fine for a few days, then it happened again, but when I pulled off to the side of the road, She started up , once again I could smell somthing getting hot like wires or som…

O.k.--I believe i have pin-pointed problem. But still have question. From my fuse box I have a white w/black line which runs to a split, one white w/b runs to a relay, the other to a harness connection then into eng comprtmnt into another relay. The lines from split on were melted and in bad shape. When I ran a new line to each of these points and finally make last conn in eng cmprtmnt relay, line wants to fry again. Is it one or both relays causing this or something else???:dead: :dead:

Hi for the last couple of weeks, my Z has had a few hikups, like it coughs and stutters at low revs, but i thought this was because my carbs were stuffed, and i have to top them up with some oil... but i opened up my distributer cap today, and saw a little ball bearing that was not held by anything... i remember the guy i bought it from showed me a stuff one and the little ball bearings were flying around the place.. so i am just asking what i should do.. the car still runs, just when it is cold it coughs a bit, but thats what i really think is the carb tuning, as my carbs are stuffed i need to tune them weekly for them to stay alive etc... its a l26 with 240z carbs, an…

Hello, I have an 81 280zx n/a with the pointless 85mph speedo. I got a white face for it that goes to 200mph, and i was wondering if it's possible to recalibrate the speedometer to function with that face. I heard that you can take the 85mph speedo to a shop to recalibrate to work with a 130mph face plate, but I was wondering if it could work with the 200mph one. Thanks in advance... Luis

Got a new used clock which I presume is working well under normal conditions. Got it plugged in, set the time and waited a few minutes. The hands didn't move. Checked the fuse box and found a blown fuse-10 amp for dome light and instruments. Replaced it and the dome light still does not work (could be unrelated but it did work) but the instrument lights do. Clock did not work with the new fuse. Is there another fuse somewhere that I should check? I am certain I have the correct wires connected allthough I erred by not marking them. There are two wires comming from the harness that connect with the blue and black wires on the clock-one blue and one black, both ar…

Ok, so I have cut out all of teh rust and I want to weld in patches for my battery tray, but the wiring harness enters the engine room near where I am welding and the sparks wont be nice to the harness. :tapemouth How do I disconnect the blue tail end from the junction box that is mounted to the passenger firewall? Here are pictures of what I am talking about -- the tail I want to siconnect is outlined with a red square. I tried to gently pry it out, but this plastic is kind of brittle and I dont want to risk breaking it. Juntion1.jpg shows the front.
