Hello, First I need some help figuring out where the map light is hooked up too. It looks to me as if the map light red (+) wire goes to the heater blower motor harness which has a red wire as well. Now there's a black (-) wire from the map light that I don't know where it connects too. Can anyone confirm where the black (-) wires goes? I see that the blower motor harness has a black wire with a ground hook but the wire from the map light has a male connector. Thanks, Dan

I'm in the process of making wire harness changes that include upgrades and additions that will increase the total current requirement from the alternator/battery. Ultimately, besides wire gauge changes, the alternator will need to be upgraded. For this calculation, I started with the belief that winter and summer might be very different. Turns out, maybe not so much. Loads are computed at minimum charging voltage: 13.5 (arguably). Lighting current is based on using incandescent bulbs which also will see "persistent" and "transient" use. The persistent load comes out to about 17A, while transients total around 16A. I took a WAG and chose 25A…

So I'm looking for a new battery, after a battery failure. Was taking R hand corners aggressively then the rubber aftermarket battery hold-down failed, sending the group 24 battery sliding L until the positive terminal welded itself to the polished valve cover. Instant electrical death, main fuse popped, no smoke or fire. AAA towed it home but I had to walk as you can't ride in the truck anymore. Bought a stock battery kit, with the tray and the factory hold-down bracket. Dead battery current production replacement is now 9", or I'd just get another one. Shopping for battery and only finding group 24 batteries that are 9"/228mm in height. The tallest batte…

I saw these on a show, maybe Wheeler Dealers? They used them on a blue 510 and it looked good. So I search a little and find some for $331 and $1, 050. What do you guys think? They look like Christmas decorations to me but a lot brighter from the rear so attention getter for the fools that like to tailgate. Maybe I could just get the socket type LEDs, much cheaper. Plenty more important things to do like the Honda wiper and the other Dave Irwin upgrades. Bored as hell... https://www.amazon.com/Dapper-Lighting-240Z7073-1970-1973-Sequential/dp/B01GUBM15O https://zledslights.com/multimedia/?aid1=840863762611071

So, I am replacing the dash on a 1973 240z. In the process of putting everything back together I tested the bulbs for the gauges. I believe they are mini bayonet BA9s 1445. This is a 3.4 W incandescent bulb. I think that is a lot of power (watts = volts X current) for so little light. Anyway, I was curious if anyone has a direct LED replacement for the mini 1445. The version that I have fits some of the enclosures eg. the speedometer and tach, but are too tall for the gauges and the clock. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I have a 71 and I gutted the whole interior and took the dash out and refinished the floor with some POR and cleaned all the vents and put in A/C. After I put the dash and everything back in the turn signals dont work, and when you turn on the headlights, the left signal lights up on the dash gauge. Any thoughts on the issue? please help

After a little trouble shooting I got the horn system working on my 1972 240z. The low tone horn works fine but when I isolate the high tone horn it just makes a "dink" sound when the horn button is pushed. It is obviously getting power so I pulled the horn off for a better visual inspection. It has some over spray on it from when the car was painted but it is not damaged or rusted. I have read several articles on rebuilding them but can see the gaskets and hardware are no longer available for them. Is there any other tests I can perform to make it work before taking it apart?

I had put this in the emergency forum. I just installed a new dash in my 1972 240z and now the indicator light in the dash points the opposite direction of the lever. The turn signals all work. I had cleaned the contacts in the turn signal. Brake lights work. Flasher works. Also, my left headlight is now real dim. Any help is appreciated!

Awesome, third time I've typed this up. Alright, so I have a 72' 240z and an EZ wiring harness (I forgot which one, but it's plenty). I have all of the diagrams I could find, and I'm using a color diagram from slash5.com. I'm no electronics noob, and have been messing with automotive wiring for quite a while. Even after consulting all my sources- I'm still slightly stumped due to the repetition of some of the wire colors. I'd like to integrate the EZ harness with the stock OEM plugs that go to the dash to keep it removable. I'm using this image ( http://album.hybridz.org/data/1/240Z_Instrument_Harness.jpg )- are there any similar diagrams that illustrate what each plug an…
