Just the other day I attempted to change the backlight bulb on my 240. Either the installer was in the movie "Who shrunk the kids" or I just have fat fingers. Any advice on how to replace that minature bulb? Thanks in advance..

Oce I turn the ignition to on there's electricity at the positive side of the coil , when I turn it off there's no electricity at the positive side of the coil . Does anyone know what the ignition interlock does on a 74 260? The car seems to be starting without this box being connected. Any Idea what this is and what it does. How about running without it? Louie.

I've got a 74 260 with all kinds of problems. A few years back I had a 73 240 and the only problem I had was a bad alternator. I have not started on my other 74 so I am not sure if it has any electrical issues. Is this one area of weakness for Nissan? We shouldn't discount it as an age issue because I have two older cars without electrical problems. Louie

Most of the wiring problems are being located but we still have trouble with the signal lights. Four way(emergency) flashers work but the only way we can get the turn signals to work is to send a direct hot wire to the flasher and disconnect the emergency flasher switch. Lots of spare parts were included with my car so we are trying everything. Any ideas? Louie.

Hi, I'm a new member and will be inheriting a 240Z with a 260Z engine next week. I was given a catalog from a company, "Motorsport Auto" in California, are there any other good sources of parts and info....I'm also interested in a good Service manual...... Thank you.....

Ok I have a 1973 240Z with an L28 in it I was driving down the road when it died and smoke came from the engine compartment. What I think happened is my altinator when bad and It then fried 2-3 wires the red and white one and a solid white one Both very big wires. So this is what I have done so far obviously I have a new altinator (is the voltage Reg in it??) and I have pulled the Dash out because It burn in places all the way to my Votage gage in the dash. So here is the ??? what should I do 1. take the whole wireing harness out and run those 2 wires new (would not cost to much but would be a bit or work.) 2. Get a whole Wireing harness and put it in.(this seems like…

The fuel, water temp, and oil pressure gauges on my '74 260 fluctuate essentially as a group. What I mean by that is that they become powered and read, and then lose power. They get progressively worse with time till they don't read at all. The power to both gauges are common and fluctuates 11-13V but doesn't fail, and I've tried an alternate ground which didn't help. Inside each gauge is what appears to be a bi-metallic switch that has a heating coil of wire around it. These switches control the power to the gauge so I'm pretty sure they are the culprit for removing power. My belief is that the regulated voltage to the gauges is too high and these internal switches prot…

'73 with manual transmission. Battery died when I accidentally left the accessories on. Recharged the battery, starter motor cranks, but will not start. Got a new battery (was going to get one anyway) and replaced the spark plugs (needed to anyway). Checked for spark against the block...no luck. Checked the coil-distributor wire for spark...no luck. Suspected it was a bad coil. Got a new coil and resistor but still got no spark. Turns out the coil itself isn't getting any power. Did some caveman wiring diagram interpretation...looks like one wire essentially goes from the ignition to the coil via the tach. Checked that wire and it is supplying power from the ignition. I'm…

has anyone done the MSA power windows conversion (internal), for the 240z? I am interested in doing this when i get my next Z, however there are a few questions in my mind... 1) how difficult is the installation? 2) where is the switch wired to? 3) are they efficient? (moving speed) 4) disadvantages?
