The instrument brake light dims a litlle bit when i take the brake off the car! It does it with the vehicle´s headlights lights on or off! What could be the cause of this and where should i check to get this sorted out! I have already connected and disconnected the turn signal switch for any loose connection but it has no effect. Any recommendations? The bulb is a red led bulb!

I can not remember which hole I run the wiring through for the fuel sensor. Assuming there other hole get a plug? Second question is the wires that go to the fuel sensor have 4 connections. I think I discovered this while re wrapping . I don’t recall the green and black wire that are thick going to anything. Are these wires for a electric fuel pump? I was searching for some brighter 70W H1 bulbs for the auxiliary lamps, and it seems that all you can get is LEDs. Then I viewed a few Youtube videos that pointed out the brighter LED bulbs were bigger and wouldn't fit. Is it worth pursuing an LED bulb to replace the standard halogen, even for the 55W bulb? Where would you be able to get higher-wattage halogen bulb(70W or 80W or more) in a nice 3200K color ? It seems you'll need to order from an overseas supplier, such as Germany or China.

I tried to search on this, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas/experience on installing a 3rd brake light. Not that it has happened to me (yet) but I dont want to be rear ended. The 3rd brake light has been mandatory in the U.S. since '86 I believe, my "85 Cadillac had one. People are so used to seeing this I am wondering if I'm risking a rear end collision. I just got a set of JDM amber lenses yesterday and thought about how to go about putting a 3rd light in while back there. I know the Corvette back in 85-86 had a roof mounted one tacked on, painted body color, dont want to go that route. Others fit in the inside of the rear window. Is there any options out there …

My game plan is to replace all the bulbs with LED units on the 78Z resurrection project. I have never used any LED lights on any of our vehicles yet, but am impressed with the concept and performance on our LED lights we installed inside the house about 8 months ago. All the original bulbs are clear on the Z. Is it best to install LED bulbs of the same color as the lenses, or just replace the clear for the clear? Thanks for any input, John-Lugoff, SC.

Can anyone identify these parts and have a suggestion of where to purchase. The first pic looks like some type of capacitor or suppressor on top of the coil. The second pic I have no idea Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

For anyone who has been on the fence about LEDs: I bought some Sylvania 2357 brake/tail bulbs since they offered 25% more lumens on the hi (brake) setting, but I didn't notice much difference. So I headed to Walmart and picked up the Sylvania ZEVO LED 1157R for $20 (2 bulbs). They advertise a "lifetime warranty" on the package, and they plug right into the stock bulb housing. I've been skeptical of LEDs, even though I like them and the idea, but these are designed differently. They have a shield to reflect the light onto the stock reflector instead of multiple "diodes" (square things). No pics, but I highly recommend these specific bulbs for Z's, at …

I've searched and found nothing (with a solution) to my problem. 71 240z...built L28...triple webers....pertronix ignition Last week I took the car up through the revs and the engine sputtered a bit and my tach and center gauges went dead. This problem came out of no where. Car has been running great and reliably all year. I replaced the blown fuse and the gauges came back...it stayed fine until I tried flooring it again and once again at high rpm.... it sputtered and the fuse blew. The problem has gotten quickly worse and now the fuse will blow as soon as I turn on the key...without the engine even starting. I've tried hooking up a 12v light to t…

I am getting a headlight harness, some Autopal H4 housings, and some halogen bulbs in the mail this week. I can take more pics as I get them. If someone could be so kind as to help me (us) figure out how to install the harness on a stock 76 280z, I'd really appreciate it! Here is a pic of the "typical" install of the relay harness. I know the plug won't plug into the 280z harness. Should I connect the two powers directly to the battery +, or the alternator? Which wires should I splice and to where on the stock harness? The one on the radiator support? I thought only one wire would need to be spliced, the headlight on/off switch, but this …
