So I happen to have the gas tank out of the 71 I'm working on (a whole nother post on its own....) and remembered to clean the ground point in the wiring harness that is only accessible when the tank is out. Perhaps some of you don't even know it's there. Thought I'd show it's location and how to service it. The wiring harness that runs from the hatch through the floor to the fuel level sending unit and fuel pump is the one we are talking about. After it goes through the floor, the ground wires terminate at a 5mm ring terminal that attaches to a threaded hole on the side of a frame member on the right side. The bolt is a 5mm hex head. Remove it, clea…

I can't find the Blue Yellow stripes wires are for on the wiring harness. The FSM shows them not used. they are directly opposite the White and White Black stripe for the driver speaker. I was hoping I could use those (not used) for the Passenger speaker. I did not see them in the passenger side area when I had the panel off, AND they are not polarized so doubt they would be for a speaker anyway.

I finally have this car up and running but the cold start injector doesn't fire when hooked up. It does fire when triggered when tested. The engine temp doesn't seem to come up above 120 according to the gauge. I noticed this evening that the wiring connectors are interchangeable on the two. It is possible that the wiring connector for the thermotime is connected to the water temp sensor and vice versa. Can anybody tell me how to tell by the wiring, where it goes or colors or any other identifier to see if I have them crossed. Also, the tach doesn't work nor does the clock. Coincidence or related? By the way, the z car will not run when the wires to the ignition mod…

Just finished the wiper upgrade. It functions and parks as it should with this exception. Wiper at the bottom of the windshield I turn them on, the wipers come up (as they should) but on the down stroke it runs past the bottom of the w/s onto the cowl, comes up I turn off the switch and they park at the bottom where they should. In order to eliminate the over run on the bottom I have to position the wiper arm about 4" up from the bottom. Any suggestions. Could it be that I cut the motor arm threads at the incorrect clock position?

Just picked up a 1973 240z, great shape but I need to fix a few minor issues. The hazard switch shaft and knob have come out of the flasher assembly. Is there anyway to reinstall the shaft or does the complete assembly need to be replaced? I did remove the switch from the dash but no matter how hard I try the shaft will not stay in. There are two flat spots on the shaft which I assume should lock into something. Does anyone have any experience with this. Thanks

The one wire going to the bulb socket is blue. The other green wire was cut. Where does that green wire go ? Is it a ground ? Most of the other bulb sockets have red with blue stripe wires, but mine is blue. I don't see a blue wire on the wiring diagrams going to the bulb sockets either. Thank you.

Hello, I have been searching and reading for the past month trying to make sure I understand. It's more so information overload. Was hoping someone here who understands better than I could lend some insight. Anyhow, background: Car: 1970 Datsun 240Z Distributor: 280ZX with E12-80 Module Tach: 280Z internals swapped into 240Z Housing Coil: MSD Blaster 2 Okay, so I have bypassed the ballast resister and connected those two wires(BW to GW). Then took the keyed 12v source that became live after connecting the two ballast wires (BW) and ran that to the "+" terminal on the coil. From the "+" I ran a new wire to the B connector on the E12-80. From the C…

Hello everyone, I have two Series-1 hazard switches, and on both, the rocker inside the hazard switch (photo attached of a good one, from google) appears to have snapped, rendering both switches useless. Not sure how common this is, but they both failed around the same time. Are we at a point in 2016 where someone can 3D print this bad boy? If not, does anyone have spares, or lastly, know anyone who can rebuild these? Cheers and thanks. Bill

Anybody happen to know where this red wire goes ? It comes from a 3 pin connector on the passenger side of car. There's a red wire, a red black wire and a green wire. As in pic, the red wire goes to a female bullet connector, then goes to another female bullet connector. Where do the bullet connectors go ? Thank you very much.

The pic with the buss flasher comes from the passenger side beside the glove box. There's a 4 pin connector labeled 36. It has a black white, black yellow, green black and a green red wire. Anybody know what the green black and green red wires are for ? Turn signals or horn relay ? The other pic comes from the middle of the dash beside the fuses. There's a blue wire at 11 o'clock in the pic. What is that for ? Antenna ? There's a blue white wire below that. Is that for the cig. lighter ? There's another bigger blue wire beneath that with the inline fuse. That goes to the blower motor I believe. Any help ? Thank you very much.
