Hey mates This past weekend my headlights went out on the Z. I updated to an H4 conversion when I first got the car but since I'm already in there I do have a few questions. Is there any issue running a higher wattage bulb on the stock harness - without a relay? Thanks Jan

Which one of the terminals in the pic is the S terminal or starter activation switch? What are the other terminals also? Is the S terminal the one that is wired to the starter? Thank you.

Alright so I have the inside of my dash apart for the most part and have discovered the source of most of my electrical issues. I'm planning on installing a secondary auxiliary fuse box straight to the 12V system to run all of my accessories off of: dome light, map light, glove box light, cigarette lighter, horn, and clock. These have been giving me issues and the original wiring harness was tampered with and has some burned out sections. In lieu of tracking down original series one wiring harnesses I'm doing this so if I have an issue, I know that it was done properly and I can track it down easily and I have some room for accessories later down the line without cutting …

Anyone knows of any generic idle stop solenoid that can be used to boost the RPMS when the compressor of the Air Conditioner is activated? I sent an e-mail to carb junkies but they told me their parts will not work with a Datsun 240z! Anyone?

If you needed to be able to direct power between different devices, like Fog or Spot lamps, or a pair of 12V power jacks, you can use an ordinary SPDT toggle switch. But if you wanted a visual indicator, a toggle switch with a pair of integrated colored lights or a dual-colored LED would be nice, especially at night- you wouldn't want to switch on Spot lights when you want the Fog lights.... I suppose you could put some small colored lamps or LEDs next to the power jack or the toggle switch so you can tell which way the switch is flipped, but having the light integrated into the switch simplifies things a lot. I think you can get modern rocker switches with neat li…

Looking to do more upgrades to the Z after playing the roadster for a year. Redo'ing the entire suspension with eibachs/tokico HP's/Top hats, Bushings, etc. Cannot wait to feel that, but now looking to really improve some aesthetics. Starting with the easy stuff. New smooth bumpers (form Futofab) and factory looking fog lights. Anybody know of a really good replica foglight (rectangular) for the 240Z? Thanks!

These wires are in the rear passenger side, beside (underneath) the fuel filler. They look like 2 black wires going to 1 female spade terminal. Are they ground wires? Any help? Thank you.

Hi all, My fusible links are in horrible shape -- rotted, corroded, yet still conducting for the time being. Yeah, I know, replace them. One of my fusible link assemblies has a broken base and is just dangling on the ends of the wires. Both covers are rotted. The only replacement items I'm finding are the covers. I'm sure I can find the wires too. perhaps a base at a junk yard. Even so, I wonder whether I shouldn't just replace the whole mess with something more practical. I'm thinking of installing breakers like this: http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/d29.html ... or perhaps a very heavy duty fuse holder. How do I find the amperage ratings on the fusible…

Sincé i already finished installing the AC i would like now to swap the aftermaket stereo with a newer model. I still have some doubts: 1) Should i install a Kenwood stereo or another Brand? 2) What model? 3) what is the wire gauge (awg) for the wire that goes from the battery to the stereo? 12 AWG? I wont be using any amplifier for subwoofers just the basic stereo an 4 speakers.

My 240z has an alternator has a 60 amp alternator upgrade. The ahmeter is not working, it dials in the middle. The fuel gauge does work. Where do i need to check? do i really need to take down the full dashboard to sort this out? Another thing i have read is that the ammeter shunt could be faulty? How do i check this? where is it located? I dont want to keep on spending money on second hand gauges if i can find the solution immediately. Anyone with this problem?
