One of the Georgia Z Club members drives past a property that has a garage decorated like an old Texaco station. He finally saw the owner at the property, so he stopped to see if the owner might let the club do a photo shoot there. The owner agreed. It turns out he once owned a 240Z, and he owns a bunch of classic cars. The owner was a wonderful host, and we got a lot of great photos. There were a lot of great cars on hand, including Joe Travis' (@GeoJoe) nice 73. It's at a new hotel this year, the Honeysuckle Inn & Conference Center. Very reasonable group rate. Should be a fun time. Already getting my luggage & accessory planning together .....

My brother is the event manager for the show and told me today that he needs a couple nice cars for the Invitational Display. The cars are all kept inside and roped off from the public and the building is locked at night. If your car is selected there is no cost to show your car and you will get two passes to get into the show for all three days. He's looking for classic imports of any kind but they must be very nice, very rare and/or very interesting. For example he's had a Datsun fire truck, Scarab Z, custom turbo 260Z, a couple 240Z race cars, etc. Other cars that I remember are a 5.0 Volvo wagon, a 1966 Volvo P1800 with almost 3 million miles, some TV cars, etc. …

Feb 20 at the Peterson Museum. This would make for an interesting Jay Leno's Garage episode. Mr. Leno has a great relationship with the Peterson. I hope some local LA County classiczcars members can attend. Thanks Mike for putting that in the upcoming events!

I've uploaded a video of pics I made during the judged car show on Beale Street. About 1+ min into the video, there are some scurvy-looking guys on the sidewalk that have a distinct resemblance to CZCC members. Since the music seems to be available to all, I've edited out prior comments about the copyright dispute with YouTube. The two songs on the video are early 1900's original recordings now in the public domain. First is Bessie Jackson with "Barbeque Bess", I'm sure she's really singing about her "BBQ" . The second number is by Memphis Minnie (appropriate for ZCON) doing "Down By the Riverside". Enjoy the tunes.
