I know it's not a Z, but a Nissan nonetheless and one could convert to an L-series under the current ruleset if they were so inclined. Anyway, an insane deal, I came very, very close to pulling the trigger on this but passed due to various reasons. The owner started out in the 40's from what I hear and is now down to 20k, including the trailer and all spares - you can't get a spec miata for less than that! Unfortunately he's lacking on the pics (however available upon request) but it's all professionally done, alot of trick stuff on there including a Saenz dog ring box which alone would probably go for about $3k used, here's a vid of a Bimmer with the same box: Yo…

The SCCA has invited all past Runoffs winners to run at this years event. Bonk Brothers Racing and LNA Enterprises are building a 240Z for John Morton to drive in E Production. John's winning of the National Championship in C Production in 1970 driving the BRE 240Z basically catapulted Datsun and the 240Z into the American sports car world. One could argue that he is at least partially responsible for the popularity of the 240Z and the existence of the Z car hobby today. It's expensive to build a new race car from scratch, especially from a 40-plus old car. Bonk Brothers needs everyone's help in financing the effort. Here's a link to their Facebook page, which has a …

A fellow club member asked for a recommendation for a road racing transmission tough enough for 400HP. Any suggestions? Presently he has a turbo 280zx T5 in his car but it just died. Thanks!

I've not heard of this done locally or anywhere in the U.S., but it may have been done somewhere: An endurance race of 4, 6, 8 or more hours where you go around the track at an average speed. It's like a road rally where cars leave the start at constant intervals, but you get to go faster in certain places to make up for braking in corners. You get points added or subtracted according to how far off you are on lap times, so the winner has zero points. Speedometers are covered to test the driver's seat-of-the-pants skill for speed. The average speed could be set to whatever you like, either a safe, slower speed to test the driver's ability to stay awake, say 40 MPH (if …

I stumbled across this really well made video of Steve Walker driving his beautiful CSL at the 2012 Monterey Motorsports Reunion in the IMSA class (group 6A). It has quite a few shots of historic racing Z's: the Natural Light Beer/James Brolin, the Transcendental Racing/Brad Frisselle, the Activision/Jim Fitzgerald, and the Bob Sharp Racing GTU cars.
