Classic Z folks, This is just a note to invite anyone that is near the VIR racetrack to come out next weekend, April 15-17. There will be a lot of great racing and we'll have our E Production 240z. We have stiff competition in the powerful BMW of Sam Moore and the Lotus/Caterham of Kevin Leigh. We are also debuting our new Quaiffe Rocket gearbox, so here comes left foot braking and no clutch!! Hello, Does anyone have an SCCA Production Racing Rules Book? I am looking for the rules relating to the 1973 240Z and the Lotus Europa. The information needed is the race weight, engine size, wheel and tire size, etc. Does anyone have a dyno read out for the 240Z for that time period? Hoping there might be a few pics from the HPDE/Track Day at Savannah last week during the 2011 Z Convention that can be posted. My kids did not get out to the track in time before my engine let loose to get a few shots for Dad's I love me wall! All joking aside hoping to see some pic's of everyones car out there.

I spent this past Saturday and Sunday going around Texas World Speedway during the Drivers Edge event. Wonderfully fast track. My little 240Z was very slow compared to the rest of the monsters in my run group. There were at least 3 GTR's and more Z06's than I could count. I could keep with them on the twisties (as you can see above I was ahead of a newer Datsun in the turns) but on the straights I was meat. Here is a lap from my in car camera. I spun out on the second day when a 911 turbo dropped antifreeze on the track. There was a flag at the corner but I didn't spot it. My fault. Hello I'm new to this site so please bear with me on some of my questions. I am currently working on a 71 Z that I'm preparing for Vintage Competition. I have to follow the "basic" rules for SCCA 1973. I have a few initial questions I'm sure someone will be able to help me with, first can anyone tell me what body panels where made of fiberglass during that time period and any suspension pieces or changes that will help me get off to a good start, also any recommended suppliers. Went to the body shop to see how the repairs on my F250 were going, (Woman hit me in the left rear the other day. She said that she didn’t see me. Superduty F250, Super Crew Diesel. Didn’t see me?:tapemouth), and had an interesting discussion with the body man. He was talking about towing his drag car and when I inquired further he explained that he had a 69 Z28 Camaro and his friend had a Datsun 240Z that they took to the strip on the weekends.
