Hello everyone, I am new to the sight. I am giving my Z a facelift. I am a lifelong fan/participant of drag racing and I bought my Z as a cheap way to go fast. After owning a particular kind of vehicle, you take more notice when you see others like it. I havent seen many Z car drag applications where they didn't go crazy with huge rear tires or sheetmetal dashes...so my goal is to represent the Z car in the Drag community with a stock looking interior appearance and super nice exterior in the areas that are possible to do so. I wanted to share my progress

I was looking for some advice on carbs. First, here is some information on my car: Early '71 240Z currently has stock struts, 5-way Illuminas, MSA lowering springs, short steering knuckles, PU bushings. 15x7 Konig Rewinds mounted with 225/50/15 RA 1's. '83 280ZX engine, bored 40 over, with '83 5 spd and 4.11 open diff. I mainly use the car at track day events like NASA HPDE and similar events. I am looking to wring some more horsepower out of my car. I am considering an MSA Stage II cam kit. So then I started thinking about carb choices. I currently have the stock SU's on my car and they are in pretty good shape. I was wondering if triple Mikuni's would add signifcantl…

I am considering switching over to some Ground Control coilovers. So far I have only done bolt on mods to the car, since it was a fairly low mile, early car. I pulled the original engine and set it aside for safe keeping. I figured once I retire it from track duty, I would restore it to stock condition. Is it worth goin…

All 240/260/280Z owners who race their Zs in SCCA B Street Prepared (BSP), there is a proposal to move our cars to DSP. This is a great opportunity to race on a more even playing field. Send an email to seb@scca.com and voice your support for this proposal. The proposal is on page 45: http://www.scca.com/documents/Fastrack/10/10-fastrack-jan.pdf

All right this is a little wordy so please stick with me! I have a driving simulator called rFactor. It's an awesome program. This driving SIM is the same one that's used by some of the F1 teams to train on. The physics engine is very advanced. Plus there is a huge amount of user support in the way of add on cars and tracks. These are called MODs for you old dudes like me out there. I bought the program so I could improve my driving skills since I don't have access (money) to a track. I built a driving rig out of an old seat from my 240 and a logitech G25 wheel. The G25 is nice in that it has a clutch pedal and a shifter. I did a mod on the pedals and hung them and a…

Thought I would ask you guys for some help. We are building a 73 240Z for LeMons/ChumpCar and would like to know about doing things for endurance racing. Head gasket: Is there one better than others? Do we need to baffle oil pan?? I would think so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JM

Thought I'd liven up the forum a bit. Kinda crappy footage though, I need to tint the windshield portion of the camera lens as it's overexposed. You may still find it entertaining.
