Rocky Mtn Vintage Racing is holding its` Trans-Am Invitational vintage race this weekend at PMI. Numerous Datsuns are entered including yours truly in his 280-Z. What is the current helmet standard required for SCCA Solo I (for Autocross)? According to the SCCA, these are the current helmet requirements: SA95, M95, K98, SA2000, M2000, SA/K2005, or M2005, SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, and 41.2A (source: http://www.scca.com/documents/Solo%20Rules/SoloHelmetBulletin.pdf) In general, you can use a helmet "meeting the current or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards." So I think that means you could use an SA2005 or SA200 helmet? thxZ

to make it faster, what would it be? i'm specifically looking for chassis and suspension ideas from those that have been running these cars for a while. now that i've "retired" the old vette from track days, i'm preparing my '73 for some weekend fun. this will NOT be a competition car, nor will it need to be STREET LEGAL. so pretty much anything goes. but i'm looking for the best return for the money. since this is not to be a competition car, i.e. i won't win any money to recoup my expenses, i am looking for the best and least expensive mods to make the car more fun to drive. BTW, i have the drivetrain taken car of. going chevy and 5 speed.

Here is a little write up on Greg Ira's EP win in the Daytona National. Greg also built the ITS 280ZX Charles Perry won in the ECR in and co drove the 240Z of Guy Marvin to 4th place after running out of gas at the end. May 4, 2008 Daytona Beach Florida. Today was a great day for the Datsun Z cars. Charles Perry won the ITS 1.5 hour enduro narrowly beating out Ex Pro Irish Mike Flynn in his powerful BMW. Hi! Working on getting my z back to the track. Having a hard time finding 15" wheels. most yards in central Fl. scrap them for aluminum as soon as they get them. Is there any one out there in central Fl. that may have a set to sell or trade for 14" have two sets of those.
