Hello, Had my CP vintage racer out to Blackhawk Farms (located in northern Illinois) this past weekend, and overall had a great outing. I qualified well, and was running in second position during the vintage feature. On lap 8, I noticed smoke beginning to enter the cockpit, but oil pressure/water temp was good...so I pressed on. On lap 9, entering turn 3A (a twisty section) the motor quit with a muffled bang, so I immediately took to the grass. My initial thought was head gasket, and a preliminary inspection has shown zero compression on all 6 holes. When cranked by hand with a turnover bar, all appears to be functioning (valves actuating, rotor turning). The timing chain…

Howdy, My first post on this fine site. A couple of pics of my nearly complete rebuild of a formerly bashed and thrashed ITS car that was campaigned originally down in the southwestern US. I had the car out for it's first shakedown test this past weekend, and the new car gremlins were on hand as the clutch master failed, ending my day early. This car will be raced in vintage events in the upper midwest area. The cars specs are pretty basic, as it's prepared to '71 C production rules. L24 with Weber 40 DCOE's, 4 speed, locked 3:90, drum brakes on the rear, coilovers, etc. This is a great site, hope to see some of you at the races...

I posted this over on HybridZ but they are too fun to watch not to put it here too. There is his BSP 240z championship run in-car video and his recent BMW in-car video is incredible. Almost as much fun as Tom Holt's video, right Tom? Pump up the volume. http://www.siastuning.com/Video's.htm

Hi gang, I currenlty have a '73 240z that I've got to the point of being a good autocross car. New coilover suspension, new paint, good clean car. Now I'm ready to take the next step and go wheel-to-wheel. To do that with my current car would mean at least a roll cage, fire supression and fuel cell. I'm sure there is plenty more, but those are the big ones, especially the cage as I'm finding out. I also have an option on a rolling chassis in good shape, suposed to have been being built as the back up car for a former racer. It needs a cage and probably a new suspension but there are enough parts (engine, goodies, etc.). I kind of like the idea of building a new race car…

Sad news. Mr Shekhar Mehta passed away in a London hospital on 12th April 2006 after a short illness. He was taken ill on the island of Corsica, where he was attending to his duties as the Rally Commissioner for the FIA on the 'Tour De Corse' round of the World Rally Championship. He was just 60 years old. Born in 1945 - a Ugandan of Indian extraction - Shekhar entered his first competitive event in 1966. He went on to win the East African Safari Rally a total of 5 times - four of them in 'Datsun'-branded cars. First of these ( in 1973 ) in a Works Datsun 240Z co-driven by Lofty Drews - the second Safari win for the 240Z. Shekhar rallied all over the world, in famous e…
