   240Z Wins 1.5 Hour ECR at VIR! 1 2

   Member Greg Ira & Guy Marvin won the 1.5 ECR (Endurance) race at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) in Marvin's ITS (Improved Touring fastest class) 240Z. Ira put the car on pole for Sat. race. There were a total of 103 cars in the race! Ira set the pace and turned the car over to Marvin with 20 minutes to go and Guy brought her home for the overall win. Greg qualified second for the 1.5 ECR on Sunday. The second ECR only had 80 cars entered! Greg passed the pole sitter on the second lap and they had a great nose to tail battle until the RX7 had a problem and dropped back. The Z team had a nice lead when he turned the car over to Guy to finish the race. Only problem…

   Hello, I'm searching for any photos of the Datsuns that took part in the EASR from 2003 on. I saw some photos of the Rob Collinge's 240Z and 260Z that both won (2003 and 2005), but I couldn't find any photos of other competitors. Any suggestions would be appreciated.    Rollover cage

   As I am in the throws of rebuilding my car, what are your thougths about fitting a rollover cage behind the seats. Has anyone done this? I'm thinking that I may want to remove it when I'm not on the track, so idea about quick removal would be good. I don't want a full cage as I will only be taking it out in speed and trial events. No car to car racing as I am paranoid about smashing it to bits. Maybe a rollover hoop that has braces back to the rear strut towers?

   On the subject of driving gloves while racing (club racing), what would you want to get? Something thin, like Isotoners, or do you really need something heavy? I lean toward thin, to feel the wheel & road. I also think I'd like to have the rubber dots or something non-slip on the palm. You are usually recommended to use something non-synthetic, which, IMO, would melt or burn easily. Natural fibers like wool don't. Any recommendations? thx

   I just upgraded to the 79-85 toyota claipers and crossdrilled/slotted rotors from MSA (ripped me off on the price of the conversion kit: remanufactured calipers from any parts store and ss brake lines...$150 of stuff for $3XX something) so I was driving My Z hard on this really curvy road and after about 10 minutes of hard braking and acceleration my brakes began to fade. I want to add sone sort of cooling and Ihave seen some of the ducting on NASCAR and roadracing cars and to me all of that ducting looks like 4in. dryer vent ducting. I have the standard polyurethane air dam with brake cooling ducts and would like th know if this dryer vnt stuff would last or be of any u…
