Hi All: The 3rd annual Lotus Ltd. (www.LotusCarClub.org) track day at AutoBahn Country Club road course (www.AutobahnCountryClub.net) in Joliet, IL is Monday, June 5, 2006. Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful as previous years and the driving even more fun. Our track day is open to all cars which pass tech inspection. Again, the date is Monday, June 5, 2006. WE WILL BE USING THE FULL 3.56 MILE, 21 TURN ROAD COURSE!!!! The price, $235 is the same as previous years for all participants. How about that for no inflation? The same rules apply including limiting the number of cars so we all get plenty of track time again. Like the previous years, we will have early…

Alright, I'm set to race this guy in a 2.1 5spd Honda Prelude. I'm just wondering what these things can do? I don't know him at all, so I can't judge on his driveing abilities. My car is running kind of crappy right now, but I have till Saturday to get it running nice. Right now I have horrible hookup problems. My car leaves rubber for 1/2 a block right now and finally gets hookup in 2nd and goes. Whats a good RPM to launch at for these engines? Let me know what you think and how I will do at this race. Also, I can drive a manual very well, and shift pretty quick, its just my launches that at crappy. I'd like to get some bigger tires, but doubt I'll have them by Saturday.…

This Sunday, Jan 1st, at 1 pm EST, Speed is showing the very last Runoffs race of the season, the GT2. All of the Nissan front runners have abandoned the L28 in favor of the VG30 in the past few years, but there is a 280Z in the feild.

Last fall I had a new suspension put on my 260z including 350# springs in front and 250# in rear, adjustable Tokico shocks and Proshock coilover kits, and a locked rear end. When I was running in GT-2 (and could use racing slicks) the car handled pretty well. It would go where it was pointed and was a fast car. This year I switched to Production Superstock class which requires DOT tires. Man, did that change everything! I've used both Toyos and Hoosier DOT slicks. No matter what I do, the car pushes like a dog on DOT tires. I've adjusted the coilovers to compensate and maxed out my strut settings. Of course that didn't make the front grip any better, but it did loosen up …

Anyone watch the TV show called "Max EX?" It's on SPIKE TV a lot. Anyway, I saw a shot of a rally Zcar that lost control coming around a corner and took out one of the photographers. It was quite frightening, but, the photographer lived to tell about it. You should have seen the video of this Z coming at the guy full speed!!! It was amazing. -- Mike

Im building my 71 with the intention of racing wheel to wheel and auto x. Right now im looking into getting an l28e but wanted to know what you guys who race are using with this engine. Is the 5spd from an NA zx along with the NA r200 (3.90) good for the track. I want to know if I should buy a cheap complete NA 280zx for the engine/trans/rear end? or if I would be better off just getting the engine, then getting a 280z 5spd or the turbo zx 5spd and a different rear end? Z's are not abundant in junk yards around here so it would be easier to just find a cheap 280zx and get everything at once, as well as full wiring and rear discs. Just want to know what a good combo would …
