Once again it's time to think about armchair racing for the winter.... This time I'd like to ask for suggestions on what program, or software, to use on a PC that features 1st gen Zed(s). I know some of you guys have those game boxes, but we need a COMMON PLATFORM, so I'm going with the PC, since (I assume) PCs all have some kind of an Internet connection. I don't want to buy a game box, as I'd rather buy parts for the Z, but software can be gotten cheaply.

Nothing (well not much anyway) makes me happier than watching classic cars racing around a suburban street circuit! This weekend in Australia - SPEED ON TWEED! :devious: An excellent festival of classic wheels and semi-heroic driving... as opposed to "Tweed on Speed" which would be something else entirely. I'll try to post some photos on Monday!

Attached are two pictures of portion of my new design for racing Z's. Describe what it is, and ALL that it does, and you will receive a set free for beta testing when I get into production. Note the design is copyrighted and may not be reproduced without liscense. Photos of completed and installed device will follow in two weeks, contest ends then if no correct answer.

Well, the news is good. A lot of you chipped in with various chassis set-up thoughts in Sept and Oct, and many thanks for your advice. Ironically, in the last race all the chassis work was worthless because it poured down rain all day and everyone may as well have raced on ice skates. My competitor for the series title was definately faster in the dry, but rain is The Great Equalizer and we were able to beat him in the rain, finishing fourth... one position ahead of him, making the pass with only three laps remaining. So our team won not only the rookie of the year, but also the series GT-2 title. Woo hoo! Full story is here: http://www.usarfans.com/article.php?story=200…

I am rebuilding an E31 head with larger valves, etc. I am wondering if it is possible to use a later model cam and drill oil passages in the head. Anyone had any experience? Thanks Bob M

Engine has problem- metal pieces & shavings in bottom of pan. Pulling engine, replacing with another. Engine that was pulled has been completely balanced, racing cams, bored to 3,000cc & we need info on how,& how far we can go without spending a fortune. Drop it back into the '75. Thanx if you reply. Stacey

Okay, this is a long shot, but I really need help and everybody here seems pretty nice... so here goes - I'm racing for my first championship in 17 years this Sunday, Oct 31, near Tulsa, OK. I need access to a set of rain tires but we're out of budget to go buy a set... besides, it probably won't rain anyway. But if it does, a decent set of street or racing rain tires would probably win us the title, because our competition doesn't have any. SOOOOOO.... does anyone live ANYWHERE near Tulsa and have a set of rains that we could take with us, to be used only if it happens to rain? Does anyone have a set - even used - that they'd be willing to sell dirt cheap and ship REALL…

I run my 240Z in autocross and high-speed events. I'm looking at putting in a solid differential mount. Question is, do I still need the strap across the diff. with a solid mount installed, or can it be removed? If the differential is solidly mounted, then it really should be able to move up or down much, if at all. My thinking is that would eliminate the need for the strap. Any thoughts?

Hi everybody. We're still working like maniacs here trying to win a championship later this month. We've not yet checked the toe-out on the car (from the previous owner) but it looks like it has a LOT. Probably over a quarter of an inch... maybe more. We run on an 11-turn, 2-mile road course with top speeds around 120, low speeds around 40 and average around 72 mph. I have a '74 260z with 23x9x15 Goodyear R430's, with recently installed coilover kits, Tokicko adjustable struts and a welded rear end. It handles pretty well, but we're still dialing the chassis in. What do you guys suggest for toe out? Thanks!
