Anybody here on the west coast going to the Vintage Auto Racing University driving school? Would like to see some 240z's there as I'll be instructing again and bringing my new 240z if I get it ready in time!

Just went to buy my new rotors for the Toyota S12W Calipers and the 240SX rear calipers on my '78 280Z. The parts man asked whether it was US or Canadian? What is the difference between Canadian and US Rotors. The 1984 US were four lugs, were the Canadian five Lugs? Is this the difference? A little help please. Thanks in advance. ecp48 Ed Palmer

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with TSD (time-speed-distance) rallies? Where have you been doing your rallies? I immediately thought that using the odometer, a palm computer and timer, you could calculate whatever you need, even average speed. Reading up on some of the category specs, I see that you might be limited to your memory only, or scribbling TSD numbers on paper, or anything-goes. Here's the link: http://www.rallybc.com/html/regional_rules.htm#Classes I think you start with the simpler 'paper' (memory) class, then move up, but I don't know where a palm computer would fit in. Right now I'm stuck with no Zed, no co-driver, and no where to rall…

Just finished a fuel cell upgrade (out with 30 year old ATL, in with new) on completed car. Didn't want to burn it up welding, so came up with bolt/rivet method. Thought it could be of help to others that don't want to burn their cars with welding. I have to many photos to show all here, so click on attachment to see NASCAR style frame then go to my gallery for more pictures.

I'm interested in the TSD type rallies, but there doesn't seem to be any in the Cleveland, OH area. If you want to travel 100-200 or more miles, you might be able to find some action? I'm not so sure about driving my 280Z with it's 100K+ miles to a place that more than 30 miles away. I'm interested in hearing how far people go for events. It might be just that it's winter and the action doesn't start till spring? I think I should be able to find a schedule for spring... thx.

Curious if anyone is still running a competitive solo2 240Z in BSP. I haven't seen any in SCCA national results since Vic Sias quit running his after the 2001 season. Anyone still trying?

And now, my bestus Z friends, in the 'If it's too good to be true, it probably is' category.....As many of you know, I have been shopping for a race car for a bit--something a bit more serious than my street projects. I have shopped through quite a few vehicles in various stages of sorting--including several from these forums. Price really wasn't an issue, as quality of preparation speaks for itself. I shopped through everything from practically free cars to $15,000 tube-frame GT2 cars and everything in between. A couple weeks ago, a GT2 tub popped up on the list for a great price. I called the guy immediately and--again as many of you know--I bought it. It had all …

Has anyone ever split an oil filter after plugging the oil filter bypass in the block? I see a lot of people warn against it, but Iwant to know if anyone has actually done it. I am planning to plug the bypass in the all new ITS engine I am building since the previous owner didn't plug it and neglected to clean the engine internals properly so the engine ate itself from the inside out. Note to all the engine builders, make sure every square millimeter of the engine is spotless before putting anything together.

Hi All and Happy Holidays: It's that time of year to treat yourself to the Christmas present your friends and family will fail to get you. The second annual St. Louis Area Lotus Lovers (STALLS) and Lotus Ltd. track day at Putnam Park Raceway (www.PutnamPark.com) in Mt. Meridian, IN. Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful as the 2003 event and the driving even more fun. We've changed the date from September to Monday, June 21st. For those of you wondering why? Let's just say there's this F1 race at Indy Sunday, June 20th some of us would like to see. After watching the F1 boys we can go emulate our favorite F1 driver(s) on the road course at Putnam Park. …
