I have a 240Z that I use for open track. I wanted to install a 4 point harness. I recently aquired a Corbeau Forza seat. I don't have a roll cage. Where are the best mounting points?? Do I just bolt to the existing seat belt mounting points?? (the 2 behind the seat) Or do I bolt the 2 lap points there, and the 2 shoulder points somewhere else?? anyone have pictures for examples?? Most of the Z's i've seen with harnesses have them attached to a roll cage. thanks

I found a Z for sale today that the owner says is "prepared for GT2." Looking at it this weekend. Now, I just absorbed EP, CP, BSP, F prepared and ITS and am curious what GT2 would mean applied to a Z. What is GT2? What is the competition? steve77

I recently picked up a 72 ITS 240 which is in dire need of new shocks. I currently have Tokico illuminas with ground-control coilovers where at least one has no damping at all. The problem that I have is that the gland nuts were loose so almost all paint had been worn off the strut body, so I don't know what part numbers I have. I thought this would be a good opportunity to upgrade to something better for my track only car. Also, where is a good place to buy the shocks from? Also, what type of oil do you use in the strut tubes? Bret 72' ITS 240Z 73' 240Z

What is allowed for brakes in GT2? I am assuming for engine, just about anything goes. But what about brakes? steve77

I'm recovering my pedals and am looking for something that looks a little faster. What do you guys use to cover the brake, clutch and gas pedals? Do you use the stock rubber pads? Or do you use those aluminium pedal covers?

Just got back from our first track day with our new (to us) 280z. I met Chino240z there and he told about this site so here I am. My brother and I purchased Dale Shanks ITS 280z about a year ago and have finally got it to the point where we could track it (might tell that story in a long post later). We are not attempting to keep it ITS legal, just having fun going around the track fast (and inexpensively) All in all things went much better than expected, the car ran flawlessly all day. But the brakes.. sheesh, that's gotta be fixed. At first I thought I had no brakes at all, then my brother told me I had to step on them HARD, very hard. So in fact there were some brakes …

I am just wondering what anyone might know about who has the fastest 240Z in the 1/4? I have seen some fast ones, but I am looking for who might know who has gone the quickest. Any info would be nice, thanks. Mark

Went to the VARA (Vintage Auto Racing Association) event the 21, 22 & 23rd at Willow Springs Raceway. It was cold but alot of fun. Saw lots of awsome cars of every type you could imagine. A few Zeds were on the track too. We had a friend in a TR4 racing but we are not members so did not race. At lunch we were able to drive the track at lunch time between their races (this was one way to test the SU carb setups). We did enter the car show and placed 1st for Imports with our Z. Met a few people from the Classic Zcar Club while we were there and passed the word on about this nice site. We are going back on Wed. the 3rd to run with the Opentrackracing.com group wh…
