Hi all, Great news. I just received this morning a poster (A3) format, from the only rally Z participated in the rally. Driver was Shekhar Mehta and navigator Claes Billstam. They did not finish unfortunately. Look at the strange Cibie Porsche lamps at the bonnet and the incredible ‘cowcatcher’…

I went to the drags (New England Dragway in Epping NH) last Friday night with my buddy/arch-rival from COMSCC (road course time-trialling club). He's got a 260fwhp 2240 lb. Omni GLH-S. On my first ever run down a drag strip, I did a 13.519 @ 106.49! To beat his 14.097 @ 108.77. Needless to say, he was having trouble putting his power down:) My subsequent runs were quite a bit slower, as I was having fuel pressure issues (clogged filter). We lined up four times, and I won the first two and lost runs 3 and 4 (run 3 by .03 sec, and with a quicker ET). My last two runs were right at 100mph, so I think I was fuel-starved. Really pleased with that first run, though!

Hi all, last weekend there was a great rallye for "youngtimers/classics" with 72 participants (Porsches, 2 Stratos, Renault Alpines ...). The one and only 240Z team, the belgian team Casier/Eggemont finished in pos.53 after 2 tough days. The pic shows them on a special stage on rainy Nurburgring Rolf

Hi Guys, The result after a very busy weekend. Last weekend we took part at the 11th Classic Scheveningen-Luxemburg-Scheveningen. A rally, 1350km long driven in three days. After the start at Friday 12.20 we drove, guided by ‘Bol/Pijl’ map, to the direction of the Haringvliet/Zeeland. It was mainly a quick route to get out of the busy ‘downtown’. There the rally really begun. I did not know the province Zeeland had so many roads. We stayed on track although we missed some markers. Along the route, the organisation pointed markers, time controls, and ‘self’ stamp markers. If you are good, you have them all, if you are less good………. As I said, we dr…

I was asked again today what kind of assembly lube should be used when installing a new cam. So I thought I would pass this along since I see a lot of questions regarding cam installation. First, if its a new cam, always use the manufactures recomended lube. But if you have a cam, and have no lube, pick up a small can or tube of cam assembly lube from your local hotrod shop. This is usually a mixture of high pressure lube and Molybdenum Disulfide, or abbreveated as Mos2. Wipe this on the lobes and rocker contact pads. Use regular engine assembly lube, or engine oil on the journals. Additionally, a product marketed by GM called EOS (engine oil supplement) part# 1052367 sho…

What a race ! I arrived on a rainy Sunday morning on top of the hills just above Clermont-Ferrand. The city was there, somewhere under the clouds, I could almost ear the noise of the Michelin headquarter and factory. But I was there for something else, of greater importance. One of my friend and fellow club member was racing his genuine ex-Nissan work car in the 6 hours of Charrade. The race belong to the French historical vehicle competition championship, and my friend attend all the races he can. Close competition to the little red devil, from Porsches (lots) to Lolas and Ford GT40. Like usual, the big engines went on to run their race ahead of the pack, but at the end…

I finally took my Z out to the track for the first time (MY first time too). It was a Infineon Raceway. What a rush!!!. I learned so much about racing. I now realize how GOOD the pro's really are. My Z has around 275 hp (not sure how much is going to the wheels), and it's a little depressing to see a Miata in your back seat wanting to pass!! After a few runs, I found out my tires have too high of a tread ware rating. Sad to say that I did spin out once on turn 8. I was following a trainer on my second run. I was having trouble with turns 2 and 7 so he was showing me how to take them. well, I was doing good, so we started speeding up. I was going t…
