Hi, (especially all norwegian friends) yesterday a friend showed me a video that's qualitiy wasn't very good. It seems to be something official from Nissan. It is called "The Datsun Rally History Vol.1" (is there also a Vol.2 ?) and it seems to be published by "Nissan Sporting Norway". The language is english. Does anyone have more information on that or do you know other sources? Rolf

I have a 71 Z that I am setting up for high speed autocrossing. To be legal I need to have at least a 4 point safety harness (all I have are lap belts now). I want to be able to retain the original seats (at least for now) and not upgrade to a racing seat. Does anyone have any suggestions as to brands/types/ mounting of a legal safety harness using stock seats? In the future I may purchase a racing seat so I would like belts to be adaptable to this at a later date but just not at this time. I would consider installing a roll hoop if that would give me the belt mounting points I need. I trust that you experts have been there and done that and can guide me right! TIA

Mike, You use to have more pics of that car on the old site. Do you still have them, and do we have access to the links ? Any contact information on the guy ? I can't remember the guys real name.

Hey guys, raced my 260 this weekend at an Autocross at Sears Point (I will never call it Infenion), the event was for Cobra's and Nasa racing on the main track and a small autocross at the end on one of the parking lot's. Anyway, i had the second fastest time (behind a race ready 65 Mustang fastback with race tires and a 427) beating all the Cobra's that choose to Auto x. There is something to be said for the Z car handling! My 260 is stock except for headers and beafier sway bars. Had a great time (first time) and have now got the racing bug bad!!!! Had fun talk to you all later, Zlish

Ok so I will wager that 2Many has the answer to my quesiton, but any one who knows feel free to shout it out! Where in the DC/MD/VA area can I get DOM tubing for my door bars? 1.50x.120 is what I need -- I really dont need much either so if any of you guys have some extra lengths please let me know. If I end up getting any extra I will most likely do the petty bar and the firewall supports -- Anyone have any suggestions/reviews on these 3 bars? Thanks!

There has been a new magazine released in Australia which concentrates on the base level of motor racing for a change. This is something that has been sadly lacking in Australia of late. Why am I telling the Z guys this? It is because there are a number of Aussie Z's shown in it going through their paces (including mine!) If you are interested in general about car club circuit racing this is worth a look. The site is http://www.sports-racer.com/motorsport.html

ok, so I got beaten by a 69 chevelle yesterday. It was kinda embarrasin, but I have a couple of things that I think I did wrong that I am looking for help to fix. 1)my start wasnt that good, so if anyone could give me some tips on how to get a good start from a light that would be cool. and 2)my shifting wasnt very fast (every time i shifted, I felt them moving away from me) and 3)I think I fell out of the power range everytime I shifted. maybe I should let the engine rev higher before shifting it. comments/input are greatly appreciated

In the vintage club that I race, 911s generally rule the CP class. I am curious to see if a 240z could be built to run with these cars. An early 911 can weigh as little as 2000 lbs, have about 200 hp at the wheels, and uses ventilated 11 inch brakes. Long wheelbase 911s weight slightly more, can have up to 2.7 liter engines, and uses the same brakes. So, how much can a 240z reliably put out, and how low can you get the weight? What do the 1972 SCCA GCRs say about allowable modifications to the brakes?

For those of you that are like me that have a 240z on jackstands in the garage and work on it everynight, I have a solution for your driving withdrawls. Sega GT2002 for xbox. Offers 3 very detailed version of our beloved 240z, including the Gnoze. Game is very strong in the authenticity department. Sega has done a lot to make the car perform and handle like the real thing. In addition, as you win races you gain money which you can use to add performance parts. Its a lot of fun and I have got my z to the point I cant be beat. (theres a thought). Also has a lot of other interesting cars you dont see on video games like Renault R5 Turbo, E-Type Jag, Early supras and…
