My buddy is racing an E30 BMW in conference this year. It is a very trick 325 built by Dinan in the early 90's. Tons of one off parts and trick little alloy bits. He smacked the wall at 100 on Sunday dicing it up with an Intergra Type R and another 325. Pretty much totaled the car. $15,000 down the drain in about 3 seconds... Whew...

3 hours of testing in my new (old) ITS 1973 240z at thunderhill park raceway last weekend. what a fun fun car! felt like i was wearing the car like a suit by the end of the weekend. handling is wonderful. the I-6 generates like 1/8th the heat of my V8 race car, and kicked the crap out of a ton of V8 and boost powered cars on the track. what a difference being on the track with a fully sorted race car- no offs in 3 hours, definitely a record for me. -james

SCCA Legal (2002 Road Race GCR) .25" Lexan FMR102 windshields with mar-resistant coating for the Z-Car. Weighs in at 12lbs., 7.5lbs lighter than glass and 250 times the impact resistance. No more rock chips that turn into runners. $395 each. In-stock and ready to ship I also found one more of the Lexan F2100 (not the exact spec called out in the GCR) windshield for the Z. This is an FAA spec material used in the airline industry. This would be perfect for the auto-xer or the vintage racer. $275 Also in stock: .125" polycarbonate quarter windows ($25 ea.) and rear hatch replacements ($50 ea.). Rear hatch replacement saves 8 lbs. and is SCCA legal! Buy the set (windshield…

I am getting ready for the big weekend. You know the one...where you get tools, parts, buddies, pizza and beer and hit the rebuild trail! I have not done a single thing to the Z since I bought it. I have just collected parts for the big day! 2 weeks from now I will be: Swapping engines and transmissions All new bushings and front end parts 4x4 disc brake conversion rear disk conversion Sway bar installation New struts and spring installation New steering wheels New seats Install R200 and corresponding parts. Also installing new Fidanza flywheel and Centerforce clutch and tuning a set of webers. Whew! Anyone think I can get it all done in 2 days with 2 friends? Mike '73 24…
