Hi, Just received this very nice wallpaper from a workscar. Driver is this time is Harry Källström together with navigator Claes Billstam. What I didn’t know was they drove the no5 car! But now I do. He ended 14th overall, the rest of the gang failed to finish.

The Historic Rally Monte Carlo is over, from the 351 starters, only 276 finished. If you want to know how many Datsun’s took part and finished…. Have a look at http://www.acm.mc/acm/index.html for the whole event. For a quick answer look at The Victory Lane Former works Datsun driver Tony Fall was again at the scene.

Whether converting rally entry fees into prizes or saloon car fans to sports car travel the Datsun 240Z has a large following all over the world which is likely to grow here once it starts being imported in quantity later this year. Among its rally successes are outright wins on the Safari and the Welsh, plus a fantastic fifth overall en the Monte Carlo Rally. * In view of the interest these have aroused, we asked Tony Fall if we could borrow his rally car for a few days. This was arranged by courtesy of Old Woking Service Station, who have prepared and maintained the car since it arrived here. This particular car has quite a history as 240Zs go, for it was first of all …

Alright, I'm set to race this guy in a 2.1 5spd Honda Prelude. I'm just wondering what these things can do? I don't know him at all, so I can't judge on his driveing abilities. My car is running kind of crappy right now, but I have till Saturday to get it running nice. Right now I have horrible hookup problems. My car leaves rubber for 1/2 a block right now and finally gets hookup in 2nd and goes. Whats a good RPM to launch at for these engines? Let me know what you think and how I will do at this race. Also, I can drive a manual very well, and shift pretty quick, its just my launches that at crappy. I'd like to get some bigger tires, but doubt I'll have them by Saturday.…

Sad news, indeed. According to John Morton, Paul is not expected to last more than a week or 2. Picked up on the Healey list from the Vintage Race Group List ... "8/13/2008 ... Lime Rock Park was closed down for an hour & a half today to honor Paul Newman. He was attended by his family, close friends, Skip Barber, mechanics on his race team, & those who happened to be at the track. PLN toured the track in his Corvette race car w/his Buick V8 powered Volvo station wagon following. He had come to say goodbye. Diagnosed w/terminal cancer, he is not expected to live beyond September. Race driver, actor, humanitarian, family man & friend - they did not come any b…

Apparantly I've got too much time on my hands and would like to have a go at building a rally car. In my yard I have a straight 240z shell and a straight 1600 shell, I know the virtues of the 1600 but haven't had the 240 full squirt on the dirt (motor out). So my question is what makes the more competitive rally car in each of their own classes. thanks Steve

Hey folks! We at HounDawg Racing are making huge progress building our next race car. Someday in the next four years, we hope to actually see some of you on the track! While I finish up the roll cage and work on paint and body, I'm planning my fuel cell installation and I have some questions about design for the frame. I see many examples where you folks have built nice frames that protect the underside of the cell--and there's no doubt that the more protection you have the better. But I don't see anywhere in the GCR or ITCS that mandates any kind of frame for the fuel cell other than the steel casing. You have to keep the bottom of the cell six inches off the pavememt-…

Greg won the first EP race at VIR from the pole. He looked to repeat it on Sunday and took the lead at the start and set a new track record in EP of 2:06.3 on lap 3. A broken stub axle put him out on the next lap. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a little semi-restoration and I ran into some questions. Well, just to introduce the car a little bit, she's a 71' 240Z rolling chassis. Basically, i'm fixing all the rust, doing body work and repainting the car. The interior is pretty much gone, except for the seats and e-brake lever. I'm not looking for anything too fancy to put in, because I plan on racing this Z. Basically, my main question would be on where I can find a complete reliably rebuilt L24 engine, and if possible have it tuned or built for high performance. I don't have any experience in engine building, but i'm willing to learn. The reason I chose the L24, is because i'm plan…

If you wanted to do soime rallies, or some speed laps or whatever ( even highway safety?), what kind of helmet would you get? Open face? full face? Maybe it would be good if somebody could post some general rules for helmet requirements & use. thx
