I was surfing on jdm-car-parts.com (a very interesting site by the way) and there is a blog about the extremely rare Z432-R. Here is a bit of the blog quoted: "I believe that Z432R cars are the rarest and the most valuable Z cars in the world. It is well known fact that these cars, as well as all Z432 cars, came with S20 engines, but I would like to focus more on other details here. Originally it came with lighter body parts (thinner fenders, doors, and fiber glass hood, plastic side glasses hatch glass, and so on. It was as ordered car only for people in racing business. Front and rear bumper never came standard, and there was no glove box, no clock, no heater panel …

What year was the first for the green exterior and brown exterior? Love that combo and don't really want to rebuild one to it, I'd rather have production. Thanks for you help in advance! Jeff

Back in 1987 I was visiting the Henry Ford Museum and came across this model “Datsun 240Z. I failed to make note of the details on the exhibit card. From the rear bumper rubber finisher, it appears to be a 1972 or 1973. Note, the lack of fender badge and rubber bumper trim. Does anyone have additional information on this model? Thanks, Keith

I saw this on Foxnews.com: http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/04/14/10-worst-car-names-all-time/?intcmp=features Fairlady came in at #9. I always thought that was a strange name, but then I'm not Japanese.

After reading a recent thread I discovered how short the production for the 260Z (US Market) was. As we all know the 280Z debuted right after the 260, but I am wondering if Nissan had intended this all along? Judging from the few months the 260 was made, it seem like the advent of the 280 was an afterthought.....Or was the 260 planned to be a short lived production that would bridge the gap between the 240 and 280? I'm well aware of why the 260 and 280Z came about due to emission laws, etc. I also know that the 280 was only made for the US. However, did Nissan have any foresight that by the 1975 model year they would have yet another series of Z cars?

John Dinkel finds all the original players and tells the take of how Datsun's Z car became a production racing legend. Z Beginning The sound was like that of a thousand bees, drunk with power and skid row pollen. As it grew louder I searched the late-summer sky of the Southern California high desert for the source of the noise, squinting to protect my eyes from the glaring cloudless sky, until I finally detected what I'd been hunting for. Coming in low over the Willow Springs racetrack was a small blue-and-yellow single-engine airplane. It circled once and then took off to the east. That was John Morton's Kachina, and his buzz of the track sig…

I notice a lack of vintage footage from the good ol' days, when Datsun was bringing Porsche to its knees. I hear a lot of stories of victories, have seen short clips, and have even seen some footage straight from Bob Sharp's own projector, but searching the internet for substantial TV footage, or first hand footage of Datsuns leading Porsches around the track, seems hard to come by. I am asking for help to put together a thread, right here, with real racing footage from the 70's and maybe even the 80's featuring some Datsun action. I know there is a ton of footage out there in analog form. If you have some, and have the means, please convert it to digital. Youtube, V…
