Mr. K sent me a magazine the other day. It is a Geibun Mook No. 564 from Nostalgic Hero. I think it is a July / August publication. Mr. K sent it to me in late August. It just got here. The issue is devoted to the Fairlady and Fairlady Z. A 240ZG is on the cover. There is an article about Mr. K and I thought you all might get a kick out of these two pictures as I don’t believe anyone has seen them before. The first one is "Mr. K is testing a prototype Flying Feather on the bank of the Tamagawa River. The car was designed by Tomiya Ryuichi and the car was built by Suminoe Manufacturing Company." The second one is “The car at the bottom is 1935 Datsun Phaeton …

Interesting video on MSN today. A National Geographic blurb about Geisha girls and their role in Japanese culture. Thought you would be interested. http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?g=21338D7C-8003-41F6-A241-D57E3CBE69E2&t=m205&f=06/64&p=Source_National%20Geographic%20Channel>1=8506 Tounge-N-Cheek, I have always said that 26th was a Geisha before she became a garage queen. I don't know about 27th. I think she was more of a pole dancer from the looks of her. Have a look at the video and see if the description of the Geisha role doesn't sound like your Z car!

Is it true that this is just what they wanted to call the 240-280's when they came to the U.S. or is the Fairlady a specific year and model. (Sorry for the dumb question, but I've been wondering.)

Ok, Im a bit of a 240z snob. Always have been... I had a 1970z that was pretty much restored. Sold it, eventually bought a 72 that needs a ton of work. I liked the 70, but have been brainwashed into believing the 72 is the best 240z. I was at a junk yard today and they had just brought in a 12/72 240z. (I assume its a 73) it has the flat top carbs. and it won't start. they are going to sell it for $550. It needs a lot of interior work but the frame doesnt have holes and the floorboards appear to be ok. It looks like it was restored (at least the body was) in the past few years. Im going to get the fenders and some other stuff off it. But I can't help thinking why don't…

Thought I would pass this along from Dan Banks on the IZCC e-mail list. Hi everyone and Happy Holidays! During Nissan's earliest decades of the 1930s and 1940s, significant influence into design and engineering came from an American fellow named William Reagan Gorham. He is credited by David Halberstam, writing in his epic historical work on Ford and Nissan "The Reckoning," as the Technological Founder of Nissan and also responsible for leading the engineering on the very first Datsun automobiles circa 1932. William Gorham moved to Japan in 1918 with his wife and two sons and spent the rest of his life there. He took Japanese citizenship, changed his name to Katsundo Goah…
