I work with modern fibre optic submarine cables and enjoy researching the early telegraph cables (as much as I enjoy Z's... so those who know me understand the extent ). I was recently perusing historical Nissan publications and came across this 1962 document: The footer contains an interesting reference: Cable Address "NISMO" Tokyo. NISMO was the shortened address (International Identifier for the Telegraph Office) used by NISsan MOtor corporation to receive telegraphs. The short form allowed for the sender to use fewer characters in the telegraph/teletype message to reduce costs. If you research the telegraph messaging technique…

Anyone know anything about this early 240z racer in Canada? It raced at Mosport piloted by Peter Ferguson on June 14, 1970. Kovac Motors sponsored it. I just ordered a DVD with the magazine article to find more but all input is helpful. This may be one of the earliest Z's to race in North America.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and just got a 70 240z yesterday, that i bought based on photos. I spend last night Googling 240z, and anything related. What I can't find is how rare and how much in demand are these cars? Mine was built in 5/70, and it's vin # is HLS30-04718. It's got the E31 heads, Engine # is 007780. The bad, the unibody is pretty rough, The exterior and interior is really good overall. She's been sitting for 17 years. But the engine has been turned by hand during those years. Seems these are pretty valuable in mint condition. Not sure what I want to do with her. I'm thinking she needs a bit of work on the underside. S…
