Hello all, I've located a 71 in Texas that appears to be pretty clean and well cared for, and I'd like to get some thoughts on the potential value of this car. The stats: 71 240 2nd owner purchased in 84 Bare metal resto in 90. Rust in floor area removed, replaced with metal from a 240 parts car's roof section. Original SU's and head with 280 block approx 15,000 miles on engine. Engine clean, but not immaculate. 5 speed A/C, but requires a new dryer(?) Interior very sharp Exterior very sharp EXCEPT for a slight fracture in the paint where the B pillar meets the door and a spot of rust developing on one of the hatch vents. Rebuilt suspension with urethane bushings. The ca…

I started to replace all of my rubber bushings with urethane today. I learned a few things to make the process easier and I ended up wondering some stuff too. I'm hoping someone can learn a little bit from my experience and I can maybe learn something from my questions that follow. I replaced the steering coupler and swaybar endlinks. The coupler seemed pretty easy and would have been easier if I had figured out that jacking the car up first would allow me simple access to the nuts and the ability to turn the steering shaft with little effort. I figured this out after a half hour battle trying to reconnect the shafts in vein. Every time I tried to align the pieces…

Yesterday I was going to a mates to check out his 260 when I saw what looked like a -previosly- spotless orange/gold 260 that had been T-boned on the drivers side, it was on a trailer going the other way. I considered turning around but my old man wouldn't hear of it. ( hes into VW's ) <end mindless time filling drivel> now let us all lower heads and pray for this unfortunate Zed........

Hi all, I did manage to pick up a 280z 2+2 today. The car condition is immaculate! I picked her up from a retired couple who actually purchased the car in '75. She said that she bought it about 4 months after it was delivered to the lot. So, it's an original owner vehicle!! They parked the car in '85 because they purchased another vehicle and this one was getting too many tickets. I guess she just had her foot into it too much. She mentioned something about 3-4 speeding tickets in a years time. Because of this, her husband pulled the car into the garage and said ENOUGH! Well, as time went on, they kept piling stuff on top of the car and eventually forgot abo…

Hi gang, I'm new here and was not even aware that this group existed until today. Needless to say I'm thrilled to have discovered it! I'm from Victoria, BC, Canada and I've joined because my wife has a 1972 240Z she has had for the past 27 years. She is the third owner of the car and has had it since she was 15. You do the math! Her older brother owned it for a year before her and then sold it to her. I think he bought it used from a dealer. Anyway, she drove it until about 10 years ago and then we parked it with the intention of sometime doing a complete restoration on it. Well, it's not going to happen as we have neither the time or money to do it, so we are now …

Has any one got some pics of what a 240 looks like after being lowered 1" and 2 " inches on 15" rims. Also what size and profile 15" tyre can you safely run without rubbing and without having to mess the the speedo.

I have a triple set of Dellorto 40 sidedraft carbs. I want to buy a canon intake that has bolt pattern for Weber. Does anyone know weather they have the same pattern. From what I have read Dellortos and Webbers are almost identical. Has anyone used the Dellorto setup on canon intake? Is the linkage the same?? Mark

Check this pic out. What a looker...a little too low for my cup of tea but the wheels are striking. Does anyone know what wheels they are? They look like BBS but I'm not sure. I've been to the BBS website but haven't been able to find the model. I've also tried emailing recetep but haven't got a reply. Any help would be appreciated.

I found a '73 240 which is supposed to be straight (no accidents)with very little rust....just the bottom of one door. It's been kept in a garage for a number of years but runs well. The problem is is that it needs paint cosmetic work and some new wheels (it's got really ugly ones now). Unfortunately I can't check the car out myself but was going to have it delivered to my brothers house if I buy it sight unseen and pick it up next week. Basically I'm looking for a straight car that I can bulid up to as my fun toy to take to open track days and autocrosses and this looks like it might be a good base to start with. My question is, what would be a good price for this car in…
