  2. The club was mentioned, again, on page 10 titled, "Shifting Gears"... Here's what they had to say: "... SO YOU DIDN'T GET WHAT YOU WANTED FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Don't fret. Visit www.240Z.org because they're giving away free Z car microfiche CDs. All you have to do is send them 10 Z web links, submit 5 technical articles to their review section, or volunteer to moderate and post messages on one of their many forums for a month and it's all yours, baybee!" Thanks to Robert, Art, David, and everyone else at Sport Z Magazine for yet another honorable mention in the latest issue!

  3. The Internet 240z Club was featured in this popular Z magazine on page 8. Here's what they had to say: "MIKE GHOLSON FROM 240Z.ORG has put together one hell of a CD. Can I say hell? Anyway, The parts CD is a disc that contains all of the original dealer microfiche created by Nissan for the 240z, 260z, and 280z cars from years 1970 to 1979. This includes original diagrams, part numbers, and assembly instructions. Yes, this means that you can see the complete assembly of your car from the ground up with close-up views of every part and intricate assembly. Just think, when you work on your car, just print out the diagrams you need and go to work. Without sounding like…

At the risk of sounding like I'm kissin' arse... I would like to know what we can do to support the efforts of the hard working folk that manage this site. It's a ton of work and is very well handled. I'm not a rich guy or anything, but I would certainly be agreeable to helping out somehow. Purely for selfish reasons if nothing else (I want to be sure this resource is still available as I work my way through my project 240). No, I don't think it should be a pay site. Yes, I have bought the CD Microfiche. Yes, I think MSA and others should sponsor. Errr... Gotta go, the wife's callin'. Ta ta kids, 'Fink

The 3 screw SU carb allows the coolant to flow through the base of the carb. The 4 screw doesn't. Does anyone know in what years the 3 screw and 4 screw SU carbs were offered? Was the 4 screw installed after the 3 screw ?

Well, it's time to show off my beast. I've had it for only a few years, most of that time spent dead or dismembered. It's back to life now and lives for the road. Engine has been overhauled with a moderate cam. '72 intake and exhaust manifolds to match '72 carbs that it came with. While the engine was out, I stripped off the fenders and rebuilt the battery box, the rot in the fenders and under the fenders. I ran out of things to take apart, so I had to paint it and put it back together. The bumpers weren't worth putting back on, so I'll be fabricating new ones. Doug Quammen

I'm looking to find the right setup for speakers in my car, as currently it has none... 2ManyZs and Daniel both said that speaker panels are the way to go, so I'm probably going to have to do that, but whereabouts do you have yours and what can be done about putting speakers in the front?

theres A few pics. I have put this car up on A lift and found NO form of rust under her. This car still has the 8 track player thats just how pure she is. Getting close to picking A base color. I was thinking yellow but then look around and see how many yellow and red Z s are out there. Now thinking viper blue with the twin white stripes. Any thoughts let me know I am open. P.S. When I got the car home it had A aftermarket paint (metal flake turd brown) with sun crack in the clear coat. that and wanting to see if there was any body/rust filler in her. is why I am taking in so far down. Oh yah. the motor. race cam , valves , valvesprings , ported, 6 into 2 header …

  10. Paris, March 8: Mr Carlos Ghosn, president of Japanese carmaker Nissan was named the automobile industry’s "Man of the Year" on Thursday by a jury of 31 journalists assembled by the French publication Journal de L’Automobile. Mr Ghosn, who was to receive his prize here later in the day, managed to rescue Nissan from near bankruptcy when it formed an alliance with Renault of France in 1999. The company’s recovery came one year ahead of the target Mr Ghosn had set for himself. The Japanese carmaker has since returned to profitabilty due to a drastic restructuring masterminded by Mr Ghosn that cost 21,000 jobs over three years and the closure of five plants in Japan…

  11. If you have been considering a coilover conversion, you might find this web site useful. It explains the theory behind spring rate selection and offers spring rate calculator. Additionally it has a fully illustrated coilover instructional as performed on a '72 240z. Bregards, Brian Holdeman Brian's Garage

I am in the process of cleaning up my Z after a 12 year "nap". I am planning on pulling the fenders and painting the undersides. I am using black POR-15 on the frame and bottom of the floorpan but am undecided as to what color to paint the inner fenderwells. Any input would be appreciated.
