I read thru the forum and I have about concluded that I can trade out an 81zx 2+2 5 speed for my 4 speed 73 240z. Keep the same drive shaft but use the diffy from the zx as well. Does all that still sound good? I saw some scares about shifter holes but apparently that only applies to the early 240s. I've talked about doing this for years but now that my clutch is slipping in the 240 the tranny has got to come out anyway and I'm retired now so I should have the time. Not really looking forward to being covered by grease but I guess that's the price. Only gotcha may be the speedo gear. Anything else? 73 240 bought in 76 (daily driver) 81 zx rustbucket no longer a daily…

The local PnP just got a 1991 300ZX. Is there anything on there that I can use to upgrade my 240Z? Thinking rear brakes, diff, tranny...etc.... Thanks in advance.

Hi I have a 1976 260 2+2 (please keep reading) and a 1982 280ZX parts car. I want fuel injection and the L28 engine in the 260, however I also have a very low klm 85 MR30 skyline L24 complete with wiring loom, ecu. My question is what would the differances be in the injection manifolds? Would the ports be the same and injectors? The skyline injection manifold looks the same but with much less cluttered with add on junk. Any ideas what would be the best setup? Thanks

Hi all, I picked up some used ZX cv half-shafts. However they're disassembled. Its obvious enough the longer half shaft goes on passenger side & shorter one on driver side since the diff itself is not centered on the car. But what about the ends that plug into the diff? Please confirm the longer one goes on driver side & shorter one on passenger side. Is that correct? Thanks -e

Okay here is my problem. I'm new to this board and did a whole bunch of searches for this bout couldn't find exactly what I am looking for. I have a 1978 280Z 2+2. It is an automatic and I am thinking about swapping in a 5spd. I found a 5spd from a 280Z coupe (Not a 2+2). I was wondering if the 5spd tranny from the coupe is the same size as my automatic? And if this will swap out with no problems? If the 5spd tranny is shorter than the automatic, the drveshaft won't reach the tranny, right? Also the drive shaft from the 280Z coupe will be too short also, right? I really appreciate any advice I can get. I am new to the Z world as I am only 18yrs and hav…

Greetings! I fairly recently purchased a '71 240z series 1. I am in need of a brake cable/ebrake. I checked underneath the car and the cable is snapped on the rear brakes. I am pretty sure the ebrake and brake cable for the rear brakes are the same cable correct? I am located in Southern Oregon. If anyone has this part I would be happy to purchase it as a reasonable price. Location is not really a factor. Regards, Brooks

Ok, I need some quick help identifying which Window Regulators are the same. I've been looking for a driver side window regulator for my 1975 280z. I know for sure that the 77-78 are different and that the 70-73 are different. So I have someone who has a set from a 74 260z and he also has a set from a 70-73 and he has confirmed that it has different mounting points. So is the 74-76 the same?? I'm having a real hard time finding these.
