Parts Swapping

Will these front seats fit my 240K coupe? or is it going to be a BIG hassle? any suggestions will be great

I may have a chance to pick up an '80 280zx motor to swap into my '73 240. The only way I can do this project at all is to keep the costs way down. I have a few questions as I plan this out: 1. Should I keep the existing FI for the new motor, or put my 72 round top carbs on it? I like the idea of no smog with the carbs. FWIW, this is a weekend car, not a daily driver, and I am very comfortable working on the carbs. What sort of difference in top-end HP might there be? 2. Can I bolt my existing 240 clutch parts on to the new motor? They are relatively new and in good shape. For now, I don't plan to do a 5 speed swap. 3. Can my existing 240 radiator handle the load?…

Is the Windshield Glass from 1970 to 1978 interchangable? I have the original glass from 1972 in the garage. It is quite pitted from the years. My car will be out of the paint booth in a week or so. I need to know if I need to buy glass for a 1972 or can I get any one from '70 - '78 ? -Jeff

If any of you guys have noticed, I've ben looking for a steel clutch line for a '72, I was thinking, would a later year, maybe up to a '78 work. It may be easier to find a later year than a '72. All the dealers tell me that it is NLA. It's the steel clutch line that runs from the master to the hose. Thanks Scott

want to know which one to keep... i have both and a 280z's collecting dust...

Im brand new to the Datsun scene and i have a 240z. The car is me and my dads project and were planning to build it pretty much from the ground up. What i was wondering was if anybody had any helpful hints, build price, or horror stories on swapping a SR or RB series motor into the car (this wont be happening until everything else has been rebuilt). Any info would help, Thanks!

Why are so many swapping out the auto tranny for a 4speed?

I don't know if this is where this thread goes, but if anyone throughout FL has 240,260,280 with a good body please let me know. Have been looking for a few months and have a couple of leads, but thought I would try the power of the Z community before I jumped on them. I don't care if the motor is shot or if it even has one, I have plenty of blocks and motors parts at the house, just no good body.

Quick question - did the 280zx come standard with an under engine splash pan? Thanks--Marc

So my car's pretty bastardized (and I like it this way!), and I was wondering if you guys can help me out. I have a 1974 260z with an 82 Turbo engine swap, I know the parts on these little cars are VERY swapable. I have a 1979 280zx parts car and I wanted to take off all the A/C components and slap them onto the L28. I know it's possible since it's pretty much the same, my only question is with wiring. Is everything the same? This is just an idea that I got now at work so I can't really consult any of the FSM's until later today but I wanted to get the general idea. Can anyone shine any light on this? FL without A/C sucks, and I kinda have a date this evening, haha.

Hi, I´m asking some help wit this swap : I´m rebuilding a L20 Block Taking from a Old DATSUN truck 1970 model, and came with a E30 Head, at the same time a friend of mine guiveme a P79 Head The two heads need to be resurfaced, Mi Question is : the P79 is a good combination with the L20 Block ? or is a donwgrade to put the P79 with the L20 block. pLease I need your opinion , cause I will repair the best head the E30 or the P79 to use with the L20 block this one question too: Can I use the P79 Cam in the E30 Head …

Does anyone know if 83 injectors will work on a 78 l28 ?? thanks for any info .
