Hello, Has anybody heared about this sort of thing, were each spark is controlled seperatly? Were can I find something like this? Is it really better than usual distributor? (Excuse for the mistakes... I'm french)

I installed all my stuff off of my 71' 240 onto it, I have a 76' electronic ignition new wires and good plugs, also installed my headers, aswell as my dual weber carbs did all that turn the key and it starts not smooth like my old one but starts. The problem is if u give it any gas at all it stumbles and tries to die, half the time it will die but start right back up at the turn of the key. I have checked my timi…

I'm going to do a 5-speed swap to replace the auto in my '73. I found a '77 280 with a 4-speed at the local Pick-N-Pull and I took the clutch and brake pedals along with all the hydraulic stuff. I quickly checked my 240 the other evening and it looks like the pedal mounting is different than on the 280. Can someone confirm this. Do I need pedals from a 240 and not a 280? I hope not becuase it was a pain getting those darn things out !! Thanks

Hey all, Ok here's the situation, I have a 71 and 72 240...the 71 shell is in restoreable shape, as in solid shell all around fenders, quarters and doors all smooth, hood and hatch both have rust holes starting..but all suspension and undercarriage parts are pretty rusted up but salvageable, now the 72 has major r/r quarter issues, have all replacment metal parts to repair but came across the 71 in a "garage find" recently made the guy an offer of 1500.00 for shell and numbers matching engine with 66,000 miles( motor was inspected buy respected z mechanic and verified that had minimal wear) but needs a teardown as it has sat for too many years, 2 4 speed trannys and a…

I have the chance to purchase a '82 280ZX that is in good mechanical condition with only 92k miles on it. Th problem is that there is sever rust damage on both doors; but mostly the driver's - a softball sized rust hole in the door and a large patch of extememe rust around the side view mirror. A friend of mine has 2 old Z cars - I'm not sure what year, that he has offered to let me strip parts from. My question: Could I take the doors from a (presumably) older Z car and install them on the '82? How much work would be involved? Well, the speed bug is getting me and I am debating on getting a motor swap. What kind of 0 to 60 could I see with 215hp from the 2L turbo? Fuel economy? I was thinking maybe a V8, but even in 2300lbs, it still wouldn't be that great I don' think. Does anyone know how responsive is the turbo on this motor and if there are any reliability issues? I know that hybridz would be the better place, but I hate that site and have already asked. Now seeing if anyone here might possibly know.
