Parts Swapping

Ok, I'm fixin' to drop a bundle. I want to put a 5-speed (81-82-83) and R200 LSD (3.7) into my 1970 Z. What other parts and pieces are required, e.g. half-shafts, drive shaft, moustache bar, etcetera. Thanks in advance for your learned assistance. Frank

The lower rear suspension arms on my 78 280z 2+2 are rusted pretty bad, and I have two 280zx parts cars with good ones on them. Will the zx ones work on the z, if not where can I get good ones?

I've got an old 81zx that has seen better days, actually fixable but the cancer on it is sooo bad. Anyway, it has a low mileage 5sp tranny in it. Will it fit in my 73 240z? I'm thinking a bit better mileage and quieter for the 240 that is in much better shape and is now my daily driver. I don't want to get into a big project but if it would fit w/o a lot of effort I'll hold onto the ZX long enough to get that tranny out unless my wife overrules. tks Don

This may be the wrong forum in which to ask this question, and if so, I apologize. But there seems to be so many knowledgeable contributers here and I'm not sure where else to turn. My question: I recently purchased a 1991 300ZX NA 2+2 with automatic(from these classifieds!) with engine damage (the timing belt broke on the previous owner @ 130K miles). Would I be better off repairing this engine (valves/heads only vs. complete overhaul), replacing it with a used Japanese motor (is that JDM?), or could I swap in a twin turbo engine. If I could swap in a TT, what else would have to be swapped or modified?

Just thought that I'd share that I got the JTR manual in the mail. I'm so pumped I can't wait to read it... my wife won't know what is going on since I'm not a huge advocate of reading ... Good times coming! Oh and I got a quote on my bottom end for my stroker. :laugh:

I have almost finished the rear on my 280z with a stock R200 differential and a 2 way Kazz internals from a 240sx. My 82 turbo 280zx CV axles are not seating right when they go into the diff. Is there some sort of clearance issues because im not using an 87-89 300zx diff?

is there any advatage to this swap?

Are the brakes front and back on a 280Z the same as a 280ZX(rotors, drums, etc.)?. Which ones are and which ones aren't?

Whats the difference between the 70-74 radiators and the 75-78 radiators?

I need a new master cylinder for my 78 280z 2+2. I want to get the whole complete unit new with caps and everything. I've searched the internet and haven't been able to find one. On ebay they had one for 70-7/77, and one for 79-81, but none for the 78. Will any of these other ones work in my car, and if not, where can I get one? THANKS

Hi, I have a 74 260z and it needs a radiator. I don't have the income to pay for a new one (I'm 16). Is there a newer car that uses a radiator the same size that I might get out of a junk yard? preferably aluminum?

can i put a oil cooler off a 280 zxt on my n/a l28...has any one done this?
