Hi I have an early 260z that someone had put 3.90 gears in. Any way they redid the R200 and did not shim it correctly so it whines and makes you want to pull your hair out. Any way I found an 82 280zx 2+2 with a manual transmission that should have 3.90 gears also I think. The question is should try and fix the diff in the car that has been running for years without being shimmed correctly or should I buy the 3.90 diff out of the 280zx. Also if I get the diff out of the 280zx are there anythings I need to change or will it bolt directly in?

<feeling really dumb for asking but ~~~~~~> :stupid: Will the exhaust system from a 300z fit on a 83 280zx?

I have a good condition 260z small (early) front bumper but the 2 side receiver rubbers are toast. I wanted to recess the bumper until the sides approach the body but don't touch. Has anyone shortened the gas mounting cylinders (about 2 inches) and done away with the rubber receiver pieces? It looks like the center rubber (flap) will fit right between the headlamp bezels. I believe the rest of the bumper (from the bezel edge to the end of the bumpers) will still clear the body. I think I could modify the little rubber supports that hide in between the bumper for outside support. Has anyone done this modification to the 260 small front bumper ?

I am wanting the close fit 240z look on my early 260z. My bumpers are a little wider so I am looking for 240z bumpers. My question is on the 73 240z bumpers are they the close fit ones. I am trying to make a deal with someone about 4 hours away so I want to make sure before I drive to get them. Thanks for the help.

I am changing my 180 to a R200 Limited Slip diff. I have the correct mustache bar. The info says I need another front mount and a rear mount. The rear frame member I have is straight across. The drawing shows this piece to be curved (around the diff cover?). Anyone got a pic of this part and the front mount? I need to know what to look for and what to ask for. Thanks!

Hi recently at the wrecking yard close to my house in the middle of no where they have recieved several Nissans with R200s and I am trying to get info on the ones I should get before they are crushed soon. They have a mid 80s non turbo 300zx, a hmm late 80s early 90s 200sx I think, 280zx turbo that I am buying, 280zx non turbo and varius other nissan cars from the 80s and maybe early 90s. I was searching and keep find a little bit here and there but has any one found a list of models and what R200 they had? Thanks in advance for the help.

Anyone ever started with a 280z unibody and build the car with all 240z parts. Exceptions that come to mind would be doors, hatch, seats. My reason. I have a 72 240z with great components. The unibody has more problems than I want to try to fix. I prefer the look and layout and weight of a 240 configuration in every respect. I want a rust free body. It is much easier to find a rust free 77 or 78 unibody. Your thoughts? Jonathan Russell

Since I have nothing to do while I'm waiting for my rear brake cylinders from Nissan, I decided to update my webpage. You can find a write up of the T5 install under the Tech section of the page. Be sure to check out the rest of the Z stuff while you're there! http://people.ucsc.edu/~crearly

I went to " All z car specialist " in Ft Worth today, Its like a candy shop. I was looking for some interior parts, This place has all 240,260,280z's zx's 300's etc. in a field and you walk through and find your parts, everything you can think of, doors hoods engine seats, and not much if any rust. Not sure if they ship? 817-483-0383

I've found some goodies I'd like to order but am leery since the site advertises to sell parts for four other different makes. Anyone ever ordered from them before? Recommendations? Thanks
